Repairing the rake and bringing it back to perfect working order gives a much better feeling than going and buying a new one as well. Those people giving you crap should really try it out. Being self sufficient is a nice feeling to have.

A good attempt at clearing a culvert, gorgeous roosters, welding and a hydro dam. This had a little bit of everything. The power of that water can be appreciated much more up close. I like that you repaired the rake rather than just buy a new one. All of us should be doing more of that. Most of society is far too wasteful. Tyfs 😊

in previous videos hes said its not because a new rake is expensive or he cant afford one, he said its because he doesnt like how theyre made today and they break easily. i would agree,the amount if things id buy that broke within a short time before i actually started researching what brands are most durable etc

Also, likely they wanted to test the spill way before Henri arrives because in case the reservoir overfills, they know they can release it without causing damage to the structure. There is a lot of rocks there, so erosion shouldn't be a concern, but you would not dwant a failure.

Be careful if you go out after Henri. Rushing water is a powerful source. Enjoyed the scenery today. The beaver pond was serene. The waterfalls beautiful. Those were some pretty jagged rocks. All them spiders in all those holes. Great job on fixing your rake. 🦫🪵🌊🐓🐓🐓🕷️🕷️🦗♥️

Me, too. Since the video where the rake broke, I hoped he'd fix it. It's so much more satisfying to fix somethings yourself rather than just toss and buy again. Besides, aren't we all kind of fond of Rake?

@@christinej1519 I love Rake. This is why I'm so annoyed that there is a heart emoji but NO Rake emoji (or beaver emoji, but I digress). There's smiley emoji but no Rake emoji! Something has to be done. 😁😁😁 Re the repair: I especially like the golden look. It gives Rake a certain blingy je ne sais quoi. Ok, I tried not to, but I have to say it. It makes Rake rakish. 🙄😆😆😆

The roosters were probably dropped off by a farmer. They usually only keep one or two because they fight for a mate.

I agree. They were abandoned there to get eaten by predators. They won’t last long. Sad. I hope he can report their location to a farm sanctuary so they can be rescued.

I expected that rake to break long ago. You got a good rake with good steel. Il'll bet you got it a long time ago. Finding a rake that wasn't made in China these days is probably impossible. Repairing it was the best idea. I know I would have just bought another rake and probably gotten a lower quality rake than you have. Save everything you can. I love your videos.

You might want to consider maybe welding or bonding a small shovel head, a garden hoe head or a piece of metal to the other side of the rake. It may be useful with scraping and/or scooping debris off of the grates . All you would need to do is rotate the rake in your hands to use the other side of the tool. Just a thought.

I don’t know about NH but out west their are contractual agreements or laws that a certain amount of water needs to flow from a dam to feed down stream tributaries for ranching or agriculture

a local blacksmith should be able to fix and strengthen your rake. someone with horses might be able to point you to one.

Nice job brazing!! If you have do to it again, consider cleaning the metal till its SHINY first. This helps the braze stick better.

Those roosters, from what I've observed living in Maine, are abandoned by people who only want hens and eggs. Don't think there's a feral chicken problem, but, maybe there is. If you are going to get a new Rake try get one that is used for laying Tarmac and concrete because they are a lot stronger then normal Rake's that you can buy in a hardware store
