Beaver Lake Fishing Report for April 2023
Water Level: 5ft Over Normal.
Water Temp: 57-60 Degrees.
Water Clarity: Still stained with a bit of debris depending on the area. Some coves cleaner than others, with a few being highly stained. Try throwing spinnerbaits in green and gold up shallow.
Hotspot for the Month:
Prairie Creek Area / Mid Lake
Best Bait to Throw:
2.5" Swimbaits with Paddle or Curly Tails in White
With the lake being as high as it is, look for new cover and beat the banks! Been catching a lot of fish in the brush, skipping swimbaits and rolling spinner baits through. Docks have also been productive as well, might have to scan around to find the fish, but you find a dock with a few good ones loaded up.
Most fish being caught are in the 5-10ft range. Pretty much any bait you want to throw right now is going to be as good as any. However, the topwater bite is still a bit mia atm. Crankbaits have been good, pick your favorite and run it shallow. Swimbaits have been working very well, especially in the small size, tossed up shallow and around docks and thick cover. Jig bite is okay, with no luck on the stick worm, might not be warm enough yet... Pleasure boaters are making their way out, with a lot of new boats coming to the area, so if you dropping in a Prairie Creek ramp your in for a show :) Thats all for now guys, lets hear what's working for you. Stay tuned for more Beaver Lake Fishing Reports, and Tight Lines!
