Beaver Lake Fishing Report for March 2023
Water Level: Normal pool +2
Water Temp: 53-56 degrees.
Water Clarity: Moderate stain after all the recent rain in and around the Prairie Creek area with floating debris. The upper ends still blown out with all the heavy rain we have been having, although catching some up super shallow around stumps and chunk rock still. Also check out bluff ends and ledges!
Hotspot for the Month:
Prairie Creek Area / Mid Lake
Best Bait to Throw:
The YUM Baits FF Sonar Minnow in White as well as 2.5" Swimbaits in White
What a crazy last few weeks it has been. Everything from 70 degree days to as low as 18 degree mornings! Now that the cold is over and the rain has pushed though, the bite has improved.
Most fish being caught are still tight on cover and in the 20-25ft range. Have been throwing a lot more drop shot style rigs after the cold spell we had. However on sunny days I was able to catch a good amount of fish around standing timber and boat docks. Still catching them on a jerkbait, football jig and red crankbaits. If you are able to get off-shore, you will most likely catch a few bigger ones, most of the smaller fish have been moving up shallow. It looks like the shad have started to group up again too, keep an eye out for wolf pack bass in and around shad pods. The islands have also been producing some nice catches, especially early morning around the brush piles and grass lines. Stay tuned for more Beaver Lake Fishing Reports, and Tight Lines!
