and i bought it i was working at a grocery store and a friend of mine that worked there was a big beck fan and we we're talking about when he might release a new album then this happened i picked it up came home probably listened to it in my car when this song came on and i was hooked felt very depressed in a melloncholy but peaceful way and took a hot bath in the autumn time great memory

Yeah, he broke up with his longtime girlfriend in 2000 and supposedly wrote most of the songs for Sea Change in the two weeks after that. The audience was probably pretty shocked to hear a song like this so soon after his Midnite Vultures tour...
