You know, Star Trek really has downplayed all the low-key why it is super dangerous to be a part of Star Fleet. For every Kirk or Riker there’s got to be a at least 50 people who get bitten in half by a shape changer or worse. Also, I’ve long wondered why the Academy does not have a class that addresses this specific problem.

Without protagonist luck, how many of those deep space missions, do you think make it back? Pike got so messed up by delta radiation that even the miraculous medicine of the 23rd century couldn't save him. There have been multiple wars in the life time of the tng/ds9 cast before the dominion war. Then there are the oblique reference/allusions to a Star Fleet Army/marine-corps.
@kenburns4547

@@Metaphysicist You don't get it. "These are the voyages of the Starship Enterprise." meant that Kirk was the captain who LIVED TO TELL ABOUT IT, and so it was all past tense with the "Captain's Log" entries etc; i.e. Kirk was making the entries as he went along, as required by Starfleet regs. The Next Generation missed this point; as Riker broke the Fourth Wall, when he said "luck protects fools, children, and ships named Enterprise." In other words, they were just riding on Kirk's coat-tails by a ship of the same name, that HE EARNED.

Someone on the BlackPants Legion Oodcast had a great idea based on the ideas in this comment thread. So the series takes place aboard a purpose built exploration cruiser designed with all the information brought back from the 5 year missions to be a more effective exploration ship. First episode is the design/admiralilty committee going over the "totally reasonable adventures" of Kirk and company interlaced with scenes of the committee asking the enterprise crew very pointed questions. "So you mean to tell me that Abraham Lincoln, you, and Sarek competed in gladiatorial games against Ghenghis Khan and Kahless?" Kirk takes an overly dramatic and small sip of water, leans forward kirkly, "yes."

A Aron, if you have to ask, then you either don’t watch Star Trek, in which case this show shouldn’t offend you. Or you do watch Star Trek and you are just being a negative person.

Is it true Trekkies are getting upset over a parody just like Family Guy Trek cutaway jokes and Robot Chicken Trek mini-skits? This show isn't canon or in any way connected to actual Trek, just a comedy equal to Archer 1999. Please, people, don't consider it as canon or focus on any common sense or every proper action or detail. It's like Trek's version of Venture Brothers. Clearly not real Trek because true Trek never used bad language like this or any of the other thing you get in this show. Even the original cast members do voices in this and say It's a parod

We had F bombs from Picard earlier that same year, so………. Also, you do realize the reason there were no sweats in 90s Trek was because of broadcast standards for network TV?

Dude, you are either a spam bot, or you just have no sense of fun. Animated shows are always given a bit more leeway from perfection. If you are real, learn to relax, lighten up and have fun.

Come on dude. This has far more of Roddenberry's spirit than S:TD or that Picard thing. Plus, it's a cartoon. 2020 has been a terrible year, nice to have something fun to watch.
