I can definitely recommend a “Project 10 uses” style for keeping it fresh. I use it for my relatively small collection of eye shadow palettes and it lets me makes satisfying progress while keeping it fresh, with random selections to keep it interesting

All of these tips were very insightful. Even though I have been panning for a couple years and seem to have a grasp on it, it’s nice to have a refresher.

I have a tendency to destroy makeup so i like to take products I dislike and find a new way to use them and that way if it still sucks I can throw it out and I don't feel so bad. I don't suggest this for everyone but this is what has worked for me.

This year I'm doing 9 differents projects, and I have a bullet journal only for project pan. One thing I really like is to have a few products that I'm just curious about, it could be how deep the pan is? Can I finish it in a year? How long it would take to see progress? So for me is not only finish products or hitting pans. Also like to have products I want to and also random ones. Good luck to all people doing projects and don't be afraid if you want to start one. 😊😊

Loved these tips! My best project panning tip is to wear makeup almost every day. If I wasn't trying to use up makeup, I wouldn't wear makeup every day lol.

I made a franken foundation with 6 products in it as I have a way too dark sample foundation who I used as a base. I have used two lighter foundations to make it lighter and used a illuminating product like the elf ans charlotte tilburry one in it to use some of it up or I maybe never would. Then due to the undertone staying too orange I used two blue eyeshadows (Who were a franken shadow) to make the undertone more neutral/cool. Had no alternative and the eyeshadows were not the best and mixing it like this makes me use up a lot of it and was the best option I had on hand without buying anything new. Is it the best product ever? No but it does the trick amd for me the shade is more important then how it wears and I made great shade adjustments of which I was proud of. So I agree that frankening can help you out a lot and even make something you would hate pan without it to something you maybe like enough to finish or even love. I made a glowy blush I adore by mixing a highlighter with a tol dark base with some eyeshadow and a highlighter with a base light enough for me but not glowy enough for a highlighter (was like a paler version of a baby pink blush) and together they make a gorgegeus blush

And don't forget to play! I've learned that throwing finesse out the window has helped me to learn what applications work and what doesn't. I learned what blush placement (and blush colors) I liked by spending nights just loading blush/eyeshadow on different parts of my face, and then when I needed to put on "wearable" blush for the daytime, I would just back the intensity. Or smoky looks. I've loved just piling different colors on my eyes right before I need to wash my face at night. It's a relief when you can be messy with makeup and not worry about if it looks good or not.

Great tips Caitlin! I organize everything in excel so I don’t have to blow thru notebooks but, either way, I agree organization is key! And don’t hate pan!
