Nice Video Vijay, My wife pursued her medical education in India, and she successfully completed all the USMLE exams after coming to the US. As a result, she secured a spot in a residency program. Her passion for medicine is evident, as she even took the exams while carrying twin babies.

I'm a software engineer like many Indians in the US, but have considered going to med school in the US for a while. In the hopes that it may be helpful to someone else: Most schools don't have an age limit, and it is totally okay to go to med school with an undergrad in computer science. It is not particularly difficult to take the MCAT for those with a background in engineering. Also some schools offer a three year MD program with the same curriculum as the four year program. This is particularly useful for those who want to make career transitions.

Love your videos and learned a lot about finance and investment from your videos. I have been practicing medicine in USA for the last 15 years. Totally agree with your assessment in this video. Financially it does not make any sense to become a doctor. I am not recommending my kids to enter into my field at all. you need a strong passion and commitment to become and be a doctor. Having said all this, I do not have any regrets choosing this filed. It is intellectually satisfying and I do not believe I would have job satisfaction in any other field.

Everything you mentioned are perfect and correct. Just want to add to what you said is that a few top students are likely to get full or partial merit-scholarship (not assistantship. Assistantships are need-based, not merit-based). My son went to medical school under the same pathway as you mentioned (4 yrs UG+ 4 yrs Med School). My son had full merit-scholarship in medical school. I paid more in UG for him than med school. But, this is not usual. As you mentioned, I paid for his college and so no loan. But, he has Roth-IRA in which he deposited all of his earnings in summer while he was in college. He had research job during summer and made some money which I advised to contribute to Roth. I agree with all the hardships you mentioned. We wanted to quit many times during this journey. He is a first year resident now, still struggling and working so hard. But, the field he chose is in high demand and hopefully, he can see some earnings after 4 years. Or, after 6 years if he goes for fellowship. I am a medical doctor from India and so, I am aware of IMGs and the difficulties in their pathways too. One thing I can say is that those in Primary care do not make much. Non-doctors easily and at a younger age make much more than a primary care doctor.

Understood parents shouldn't force children to become doctor in USA at least.. if they have passion, yes they can go ahead.. 11 years is not easy..Lots of peer pressure and sacrifice. So passion and dedication is important here. I heard 4 years mbbs course in india not enough.. they r going to hospital for less salary like 40k.. what else required in india to get good salary? Is mbbs worthy?

Couple of points you missed. Two semesters of college mathematics is required for the medical schools in the USA. Much different from Indian Medical college requirements. In my state of TN, one can mug up only the 12th standard books and vomit it out to get into Medical college. Of course if you are in the forward category, you compete for 32% of the seats against 100% of the applicants. NEET brought in some accountability, but the current government wants to scrap it. Pretty soon most of our doctors from my great state will be unemployable just like our engineering graduates. Also in your comparisons, you made an assumption of a constant $40k for a software engineer and a $100k for a doctor. The doctor doesn't get stock options, RSUs etc. The stress for a doctor, especially surgeons is very high, they become part salesperson.

Sir pls spend 3 minutes and read this msg. If realize this is good question u reply. Advance thank you. Sir many of the time traders and investors say check PE, BOOK VALUE, EPS, Debt ROE, ROC. But I have one doubt. If I run one company (1 tea shop ) total investment 1 cr , first year profit 10L. 5L I take my bank account 5L I invest in company. After 5 years i open 2 more shop. So total investment 2 cr (total 3 shop). And get profit 30L. Now I plan open 17 shops( totally 20 shop). But I need 7cr. Already I have 2 cr in hand. Just I need 5cr. Now I am going to public. Now my questions start: 1. I need to get 10cr ( 3cr , 2 cr 5cr) worth of share or 7cr( 2cr + 5cr) or 5cr (only public share). What’s is value of promoters value in company (5or7or10cr) 2. If 10L share ( 10L*100₹). Over subscribe the 110₹. Extra 1cr what company do. 3. If first year 20 shop total profit 1crs (10% over all 10cr investment) same 10 % share price increase or not ( 100₹+10%=110₹) 4. If share price go down to 70₹( due to IT ride ). But company run well. Next day IT department say all are good. Now company return to 105₹. In the between 3 days share price change 30% up and down. Same time company also affect any total company account value. 5. If some reason price reach 120₹. Buyers pay 20₹ extra seller get 20₹ profit. But how this affect company value. 6. Investor expect company earn good profit. If Companyearn good profit demand happen so share price increase. If company earn 5cr(50%). But some opponents sell share very low price. What happen. 7. If promoters in this company what role have ( CEO, MD, or any else) 8. Promoters have any salary package. ( if have salary package who desire the top one salary)

in india after 6 years once can get MBBS degree, it is very unfortunate, we dont find any mbbs practicing. it has become a necessity to compete for MD or MS another 3 years of study before one can start career as a doctor or consultant or for setting up practice. for an mbbs night duty doctor the payment is not more than 15,000 and the guy will be slogging with books for pg entrance while doing night duty in private hospital. pathetic struggle before any can settle..
