In 1972 I learnt to drive in the army, in an RL, no syncromesh nor power steering, but boy, those air brakes stopped it! Back then it was classed as HGV3.

I remember hockling up a big greeny and spitting it out of the back of a 4 tonner and watching mesmerised as it spun floating in the air behind having been hit by the under-current passing below the Bedford then almost intentionally looping the loop before splatting back in my face. Fucking army, fucking 4 tonners! Stag on suckers!
