In Hawaii that kind of fishing in crowds would not be tolerated. For sure the fishermen here would be upset at you for using such a light setup that you can't bring your fish up promptly and have to weave over and under their rods. Lucky you, the fishermen there are patient. Not to mention all the break offs that leave the fish with the lure still in its mouth.

this set up was actually meant for catching small fish like jack mackerel, yellowtail scads, and small queenfish. it just so happens that in singapore it tends to hook up fish like this. Fishing is not always about the most efficient way to catch fish, but sometimes you do things like this to put yourself up to the challenge of strength control and etc, like an art.

Hi man, I know you are playing Ajing but from the video your drag is too low so you are unable to tire the sagai, esp with their high speed and stamina. Extended fights can even kill them from exhaustion. One small sagai on and you have to follow it around the whole jetty inconveniencing everyone, end up snapping and putting hooks and line in the fish. Increase drag just abit more and you can control the fish, not the fish control you...

Hello, I really enjoy your videos but with all due respect, I think using slightly heavier gear would result in less line breakage and line deposit into the sea, less sagais (ones that you don't intend to keep or have escaped) harmed since the prolonged fights may overstress them and the hook may or may not remain in their mouths. Also, it wouldnt inconvenience the other anglers on the jetty too much whenever you have one hooked on. Thank you.

@@fishyfishy4863 Very simple. Line poundage that doesn't result in broken lines for more than half of the fights for the reasons stated above. No offence please. Just my thoughts. As a angler who believes in catch and release of small sizes fishes, use of appropriate gear to be fair in the fight. Using under sized gears which results in multiple line bustings with hoonks and lines enbedded in escaped fishes is considered abuse. Can you imagine the number of fishes swimming around in the sea with a hook in their mouth and busted fishing lines in toll? Targeting larger sagai on an ajing setup isn't exactly ajing isit? I kinda agree, in this kind of situations, its not very considerate to the other anglers. @@fishingparrot636 ajing is fishing mackerel. Going for other species (like sagai in this case) is basically sagai fishing with a UL setup. If I use real bait on my fly rod, am I still fly fishing or am I bait fishing with a fly rod? Anyways, its just terminology which is a trivial matter.
