Brings to mind a interview with British Talk Show, Clive Anderson, who leveled jokes and insults at all three brothers the whole time and joking " he forgot about that song." Barry replied "I thought you might, in fact I might just leave." All three brothers walked out with a full studio audience watching. That walk-out is now listed as one of the top 10 TV moments.

Chad, I just loved your reaction to this song. And I couldn't agree with you more about the absence of Robin during this period of separation. Yes, they went their separate ways for a while but they weren't happy campers during this separation. They missed each other more as brothers than as performers. Their brotherly love for each other won out in the end, thank God, and they gave us all those wonderful songs and those perfect harmonies for decades to come and that truly is the legacy of our our precious Bee Gees. I'm waiting patiently for your next reaction!

I really don't like country songs, but I actually like this...of course when I hear it I am picturing Barry & Maurice paddling down a willow framed stream singing the song. ( From Cucumber Castle). Per your comments, like Maurice once said 1 brother is good, two brothers are great, but three are " magic".

This song is from the album Cucumber Castle, and as you said an album without Robin. It is a great album and the song "If I Only Had My Mind On Something Else" is a favorite of mine. And "I.O.I.O." is also a great song. 6 of the songs including "Don't Forget To Remember" was included in a TV Special in 1969 also called Cucumber Castle.

I love the greatest hits of the Bee Gees but I have also really liked to follow them down the paths less traveled, if you can even put this song in that category. It reached #2 in the UK and charted high in most markets, but not in the US. I have surprised myself by really growing to enjoy many of the songs on Cucumber Castle. I am drawn to the deep masculine tones of this song and other songs which featured Maurice’s and Barry’s lower registers. Thanks for listening to this song, Chad, and for your genuine reaction.

The song reminds me of a talk Jim and I had before he died. But without Robin, it's just not the same. This is why Barry knew after Mo died that the Bee Gees were done and Robin couldn't accept it.

_Hello, D P. The lyric "photograph on the wall of you, girl" makes it difficult for me to see a direct connection to Robin. Of course, parts of the song could be taken that way, I suppose. Part of my commentary, at __7:01__ I talk about how I feel about the absence of Robin._

The brothers were known to commercialize songs. Double entendres. Love songs sell. LONELY DAYS LONELY NIGHTS and HOW CAN YOU MEND A BROKEN HEART were written their first session back together. Even though Lonely Days says “Where would I be without my woman,” the official video show s them getting back together at the end. Highly recommend you react to it!! Barry’s dog’s name is Barnaby. How can you mend a broken heart? Make up and make music with your brothers.

There were other love songs that were really about their feelings for each other. After the breakup, and upon reuniting, "How Can you Mend a Broken Heart" and "Lonely Days" were written to express those emotions.

I love this song, Maurice sings lead, I think & was played on a tribute video for Maurice after he died. It is such a sad song & so Country, they should have released it on Country Radio too. Johnny Cash, Conway Twitty & George Jones all started out Pop & then had their music cross over to Country Radio & then they made that their home. Just cause you break up with someone doesn’t mean you never think of them. They learned from their breakup & grew from the experience. ♥️♥️💔☹️

Yup, good guess, this is from the split. Beautiful song though. It is a sad style but it's meant to be. I know you don't want any more Bee Gees requests, but "Boogie child", "Spicks and specks" (one for all tour 1989), "I've gotta get a message to you", "Morning of my life" (Melbourne 1974), "Wind of change", "Baby as you turn away"

Thanks Chad, and I appreciate you keeping it real. I know this was released as a single and did well in the UK, but it was at a bad time for the brothers. Barry said they all needed to grow up and move on from the drama. So he and Mo did the Cucumber Castle TV special. (I have to admit I will laugh at it) and he said it was good to do something silly, but he wasn't sure how much growing up they accomplished. Others have mentioned that this song may have been a reach out to Robin, and I have not heard any of the brothers talk about it specifically, but they did incorporate their circumstances into the feeling of songs. When they reunited, they poured their loneliness and sadness about being apart into Lonely Days and How Can You Mend a Broken Heart, but on the surface the lyrics were about love relationships. As far as this song goes, it is not a favorite of mine, but I appreciate it. I actually don't think it was a good key for Barry. I listened to a recent interview Barry did with Tim Roxborogh, a radio personality in New Zealand, and they talked a bit about Don't Forget to Remember Me as they were going through potential tunes for a possible 2nd volume of Greenfields. Barry has done other Country songs that are great. "Rest Your Love on Me" comes to mind, and someday when you are ready to hear Greenfields, "Words of a Fool" is wonderful.

Thanks a lot! Since I bought the single in late 1969, every time I hear it, this song takes me away. It's a kind of magic, perhaps the sad melody? About Peter Mason, I add that his harmony vocals were erased from the final recording. The album "Cucumber castle" is in my BG'S top ten . I love it. It contains 11 out 12 gems. My fav: "I lay down and die", "My thing", "Then you left me", "I was the child" and "The turning tide". A few years after Mo's death, Barry and Robin did a live rendition of "Don't forget to ...". Robin sang a very touching verse in solo. So moving. kzitem.info/news/bejne/uYF3uqekbHRiqaA

I've watched that video several times. Robin could always have the saddest voice, but in that video, you can literally hear and see his pain. Can't remember the year, but he might also have already been sick. Just wish it had been recorded up closer, and that there was more video of them performing together at this charity event.

Every favorite artist of mine has songs I don't care for much, whether it's Fat Bottomed Girls by Queen or 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover by Paul Simon or this song. Also, a photo doesn't LIE on a wall, it HANGS on a wall. Geez.

Barry does seem to be intentional about the lyrics he writes. I wonder if he meant the other meaning of the word “lies” which revealed more about what the photo was saying to him than about its position on the wall. Or maybe he just misspoke, not on purpose.
