@@Texas_Love if you listen to the original performances from the 1960s it is so much better it is the songs that people fell in love with back then. This version is nice it's okay but the original ones are the best . I hope you can listen to The Originals someday of of I've got to get a message to you, I started a joke, to love somebody, and how do you mend a broken heart. These are the best versions the ones from the 1960s but still this review of this version was very nice. I love all of your reviews!

I think Wembley stadium where the concert was for Mandela. They did a number of songs. At one point before they were famous Barry was playing a guitar with only 3 strings before they could make enough money to get new ones. It was mentioned in an interview.

These boys were born in England, but moved to Brisbane Australia when young. They actually moved to Cribb Island (literally down the road from me) which has since been flattened and all but decimated for the Brisbane airport. Statue of Barry Gibb at Redcliffe, just down the road from Cribb Is.

That was the Nelson Mandela concert. This is an often used dissonance with the Bee Gees. They have an upbeat sound with a depressing message (think Stayin Alive). These guys channelled the conscience of the era. This was a Mandela concert, before Mandela was solidly in the global psyche. I heard an interview with a rather disillusioned Barry after this concert, where he mentioned disbelievingly that some of the artists wondered when Mandela would be performing. They were musical philanthropists before it was a thing. Their donation of the song and songwriting royalties to the UN for Too Much Heaven is still generating money today more than 40 years on.

They all said they are a live band! They are the best live! There is a song Wind of Change off their Main Course album that I really love the live version even better then the recording. KZitem has a video from the 1979 Spirits Having Flown concert ( the one that says good audio) that is fantastic! It is exactly how I remember them live. I think this one was filmed in Anaheim stadium…people stood in the rain for hours to get in. One of the videos covers the part with the audience/fans. I love each one of their voices, Barry said that whoever wanted to do the song did, but they also geared the song to the singers voice. He said that they has 5 or six voices to choose from. Mo said that Barry and Robin together sounded like one voice, they were so in sync. A great example of that is in Fanny Be Tender with My Love.

Just ironic, earlier this old song came into my thoughts for whatever reason and I started singing in my thoughts, from back in the days, almost something similar. Only it was a guy who as a child got in jail and at one point asking god for a walk on the outside, very touching. I bet you most of the older folks like me might not remember this song “ A walk on the outside“ this is like the prisoner his last wish. If you do this reactions, I would be very curious how many people might remember it? kzitem.info/news/bejne/wICOtWRocpucq6Q. This is a very old song, probably older than I am.
