I’m instantly transported back to Week of Christmas 1977 in 5th grade. This song was the opening to a movie that was a cultural phenomenon. I still remember the excitement in the theater that night. As a NYC area kid I knew what it was like to cross the Verrazano bridge and double up two slices of pizza. This song is the pulse of those streets and that moment in time🎼🕺🏾🍕

Oh, by the way, Barry wrote songs for Streisand, Warrick, Cher, Diana Ross, soundtracks for movies, Kenny Roger's, Samantha Sang, Saturday Night Fever one of The most sold/popular soundtracks ever....not to mention other hits for themselves. Bee Gees are Far more influential than you know but can Explore. Awesome what Barry brought to music.

The Brothers Gibb have always considered what they write to be R&B. When Barry realized he could sing in falsetto, he already loved and respected the Stylistics and the Delfonics and wanted that same groove. And, man, did he find it.

Barry Gibb was one handsome man sadly he’s the only brother that still alive they just did a fantastic documentary on them on HBO if you have it or HBO max it is so good and the saddest thing was at the end he said he would give it all up to have his brothers back……They were absolutely huge I can’t stress enough the global superstar is that they were in the 70s

Anyone who thinks today’s music is better that the 70’s & 80’s with the BeeGees, Chicago, etc. it’s no contest. The BeeGees harmonizing, vocals, song writing, 5 decades of hit songs, etc. and if you ever saw them in concert they sounded just as good live as they did on their records.
