Upon returning from a ride after a few hundred miles on my Explorer, I noticed that FOUR of the six bolts holding the rear rotor had somehow worked themselves loose and were completely gone! I contacted Bee Cool and after having to submit a video and picture of the problem, they shipped me a new set of bolts, which took a few emails and about 3 weeks to arrive. In the meantime, I removed a couple bolts from the front rotor and added them to the rear, so that both front and rear had 4 bolts, thus making it ridable as I waited for the bolts to arrive. Needless to say, when they got here I removed all of them and reinstalled using blue Locktite thread locker, and haven't had an issue so far. One of my crank bolts have also come completely loose twice..... before I put threadlocker on those as well.

Same exact thing happened to me, only I didn't notice until I hit the back brake one night and The only screw left exploded out of the hub sideways. Talked to the company and eventually they sent me a whole new back hub which also had loose screws! Some of the screws didn't have ANY thread lock at all. Couldn't believe it. Put my own on front and back and haven't had a problem (with the rotor screws) since. To anyone thinking of buying one of these bikes, check EVERY screw before you start riding.

On a steep down grade with any bike you need to alternate brake application between the front and rear allowing one to cool while the other is working. Applying both for long periods of time will cause warping.

The same thing happened on my Adventurer. Every single bolt came out of the rear rotor and I was literally riding it around unable to find out why my brake didn't work. It was undetectable even though the rear rotor was 100% not connected to the wheel. The problem was QC on the tightening and thread adhesive. Always use thread lock or some thread adhesive on safety critical threads.

I actually worked on this same bike for a coworker today. I went to do a brake bleed because they said there was no brake. The front was easy but the back was full of air and contaminated fluid. I got that done then I was checking the pads in the rear and found them to be in the same condition as those you show. The caliper is not lined up with the rotor. So either the adapter is wrong or maybe filling down the adapter to correct the alignment is in order. Next I also found the rotor bolts were all loose. Those bolts tighten with a torx but that was stripped out so I couldn't get them very tight. I didn't have any bolts on me so it looks like a return visit will be nessessary.

I bought a bike torx wrench kit for this bike. There is a reason they have torx specks in the manual. Most of any type of bike is made in China these days. When you buy a bike out a shop they go through everything after taking it out of the box. I'm sure they find Alot of loose screws and bolts. This is a very good quality bike for what your paying for it but your going to have to do occasional maintenance on it, especially the breaks.

You would think they would have some decent loctite on those threads from the factory. That same bike was actually on my radar for hunting duty here in Western New York. I guess if I do go with that bike, I will have to remove the bolts on the rotors and loctite them again.

Man I just stumbled on this video probably because I have been looking at ebikes pretty hard this week. And these Bee Cool bikes were on my list as runner up. I'm looking for one to use Exclusively in the woods for hunting maybe ride down the street here and there but predominantly for hunting. Guess I'm gonna have to get some LockTite and go over the entire bike if I pull the trigger on this thing

I would not recommend using red locktite on fasteners that may need to come back out some day. Blue is the best to use in this situation. Also it looks like these bolts with the heads sheared off are obviously lacking shear strength. High strength fasteners are a little pricey so it's a good place to cut costs for the manufacturers. U might want to go to higher strength fasteners available at aircraft supply shops or many places online. I would recommend fasteners with at least a 160 ksi axial tensile strength or Ftu. This will give you shear strengths (Fsu) in the 120 Ksi range. These fasteners are not that high in price compared to the more exotic 220 Ksi Ftu fasteners which cost a lot.

Probably a good idea to check all rotor bolts on all bikes for factory dry thread locker. They use a dry gel type, it usually holds, maybe in your case bolts were never properly secured at factory. I would be anxious to see if your bolts have the factory thread locker on them. I see you have some thread locker of your own, good idea to torque new bolts and allow full 24 hours of cure time.

The front disc on my Magicycle Cruiser had all the screws fall out because the factory didn't put Loctite on the screws. Weirdly enough, there was lots on the back disc screws. So much for quality control.

@@cloudpumper6399 I got the MT200. Came as a set that included everything but i found out that if you change the brake lever it will no longer stop the motor and that was a problem. So I have the no name brand levers and brake lines with the Shimano calipers. Works great
