On January 17, 1920, brewers all around America shed a tear. As the clock struck midnight, the United States plunged into Prohibition, banning over a thousand producers from selling their prized product: alcohol. This era forced brewing companies to either evolve or perish, and only a handful chose the former. Out of the 1,300 brewers operating in 1915, only around 100 managed to survive. Yet, among the survivors were some of the most legendary names in brewing history. Here are their stories!
