In case any of you were wondering, my weird positions in the bass part are because I don't currently own a bass trombone, so I have to do 'E pull' on a tenor to reach the low B's, shifting all my trigger positions up one position.

Totally understand...many years ago (51) I had just an f-attachment bass trombone and had to do this frequently. Good video and sound! Is this your arrangement, John?

Incredible! Your artistry is greatly appreciated, John. This would’ve been AMAZING to work on in the old quartet; what a fun challenge it would’ve been. Miss those days.

Are you using your old axial horn on the bass part? Is there a specific reason?
@SashaRomeroMusic
4 жыл бұрын
Yes, good eye! The reason is that the axial valve is both more free blowing (less resistance) and has a longer tuning pipe, which makes the low C's and B's more in tune and easier to hit consistently. I also plugged in a 2.5L leadpipe and a 2G mouthpiece to get more of a bass-y sound. Ideally, I'd just get a bass trombone but I just purchased my Opera tenor (which I use on the other 3 parts) so I'm holding off on that
