Question ❓ I noticed you painted that last layer over your surface that had been dark waxed. (Excellent choice by the way, that last color you painted the chair is stunning!) What is the process for that? Meaning, how do you paint over wax? I had always read that wax HAD to be your last step.
@ellenjgoods
2 жыл бұрын
Hi Carla. Are talking about the wood chair frame? The frame of the chair had the original old finish on it ( which had a dark glaze in the carved details). I didn’t dark wax it . I painted it with Fusion Lichen . If you look at the before pic of the chair, you’ll see the old finish. Thanks! I hope this helps 💓

@ellenjgoods

In most cases, can use wax after you do a few misting coats of 50/50 polycrylic water mix. In this case I applied the wax directly on to the inlay , a quick light coat. I would always err on the side of caution and do that setting mist, though.
