This was really fun to listen to. Tony is a good story teller, prob why he's been so successful on tiktok. I really enjoyed listening to this. Brings back a lot of great memories from my own grandfather.

My family no longer farms anymore but we still own my grandpa's tractors that he farmed with until he retired in the 80s. My dad has the 1968 3020 which he used to push snow and other odd jobs around his acreage. My uncle still has grandpa's 630. Both tractors were bought brand new. The 630 was the very first tractor I ever drove by myself at the age of 5. My dad will be 79 this year, and as best we can remember the 3020 has never had any major work done to it. I have 2 brothers that have already said that when Dad passes away I get the 3020 which means a lot to me. The farmer I currently work for rents my grandpas farm which is cool for me that even though I'm not personally farming it I still get to spend a lot of time doing work in the fields that have been in my family for over a century now. I love these videos of you talking with guys about their old tractors and how they shaped the farms. I'm in northeast NE and any time I get to reminisce about how the farm looked back when I was a kid it brings joys and memories of grandpa.

Had a '61 4010 with 4020 sleeves and pistons. Had 15.5x38's that couldn't hold it. Swapped for 18.4x38's and 10.OO x16's. Really woke that girl up!! 4th was a great gear, straight 5 mph! The Deere panels were a mess. Took a decal kit from a 2040, cut and reversed the 40 and 20 for 4020, plus a strip to finish the hood!

When I was in first grade I helped my mom change out a piston on our JD A. We drove over to downing and bought a used piston and brought it home to swap out a bad ring. Dad was gone for work and we had hay down.

Silver King tractors were built in Plymouth, Ohio, about 8 miles from me. They were originally called Plymouth tractors but they got in a lawsuit with Chrysler over the name and ended up switching to the Silver King name. You see quite a few sitting around here still. They did make some with a wide front end I believe. Neat tractors. Plymouth used to have a lot of manufacturing in town back in the day. They’re also home to Plymouth Locomotive which I think mostly made smaller locomotives similar to ones you might see at a grain elevator for shuffling cars. Another great video. Tony’s passion for that 4010 is how I feel about my dad’s 806s.

I worked on a dairy with two 4010 diesels. Both had 404 sleeves and pistons. One had a narrow front end, the other was wide. We used them for everything but plowing. We harvested all the corn that we didn't chop with the 4010s and two New Idea pickers. One with a sheller on it.

The farm I grew up on has an Allis 190XT Diesel, that was the first tractor I felt like the kind of the world driving. Cleaned it up and painted it a few years ago. It's still a major part of the farming operation. Silver Kings are neat old tractors!

Still have dad's 1961 JD diesel row crop model 3010 as well as 1964 wheatland , standard 4p20 diesel both bought from local dealership, 2 miles from the farm. If I have my say in matters , these 2 tractors will stay on this farm ! Actually have a JD 4 row midpoint corn cultivator ghat dad used up until 1982 to cultivate his corn 36 inch row spacing. As well as the JD model 650 chisel plow cultivator perhaps 12 feet wide unit. John Deere /Kelliher 10 foot wide land leveler , box scraper. All remain in use at the farm.

Vary hard to believe they got that kind of horsepower out of that with the oil cleaner still on the intake. Our 4010 was in at the local JD dealer in the sixties to get the m&w turbo setup on it and they couldn't get nothing more then 105 to 110 with that oil cleaner on. Put on a dry filter intake and it woke right up 120 to 130 easy!

I ran a 55 with 3 row wide (335) as a kid. I liked shelling corn- hated cutting beans, dad was never satisfied- I was either scooping up dirt or cutting too high. I usually did better when he walked away and left me alone.

I met an old farmer who bought a wiretie baler new back in 2007, special order from JD. This man baled thousands of bales of straw, the mice would eat thru the twine, we were buying straw off him and he told me that he would no longer lose one bale. That's his reason for switching to wire

I added a 4430 turbo setup to our 4020 years back and after turning the fuel to the moon it ended up cooking the oil and the pistons 4-cornered theirselves and cost me way more then what an M&W oil pan would have 😢
