You are 100% Spot on. One thing I would mention is the lock release is sharp as hell. I bought the 3V with Grivory scales and felt let down but I knew that was a possibility. I have since bought Original Goat Kirinite scales and because they are slightly thicker and look great, I now love the knife. It is still over priced but I’m fine with that now. I will probably buy another now that I have seen your scales. I think I have to have them but don’t want to give up the ones I already have either. Thanks for the review.

At the time , for the money , I was a lot happier with a WE Roxi 3 . Which at the time I thought was really small , and it is but not too small . 3” blades are my lowest setting and 3.5” 4.5” is what I really like the most .

my #1 issue with the 20.5 is the blade grind..it has horrendously thick grind behind the edge. Also did you see the new Vision from Civivi? Im excited.

I remember that video and I agreed with you. Although I understand that we are paying for the locking mechanism innovation. Just like you, I wasn’t a fan of the grivory and I thought Aus10 wasn’t the best choice for the money. Also, those scales you have are sick bro!

The only reason I havent bought the new G10 big pivot version is that I think that should of what we got for $149.95. $250.00 is rediculas for G10 and S35vn.Blame benchmade bugout for these over $150 plastic handle kinives.

I agree the materials are not worth it on the base model but build quality was solid on mine and somehow it finds a way into my pocket all the time. I really enjoy Demko’s designs as a whole too. The AD10 is my go to big knife and the AD15 is such a cool design. One day I will own the American made AD20…

I hear you, I like mine now that I've made some adjustments, aldo an MG20 is on my shortlist but that is a tough one to find always a day late or a dollar short..mostly the latter😅

Not interested in a folder that has to have lots of modifications done before I might like it. I have noticed that recently there are ways to improve the detent with magnets. I am resisting any folders with magnets because of the possibility of picking up steel particles, and possibly having detrimental effects on automatic mechanism watches. I’ve resisted buying one of these for many reasons, and after watching this video now I have more reasons😂

Myself, I absolutely luv the Demko Shark-Lock Folders. To me, a "Master Fidgeter..." :-) The Shark-Lock makes these Knives worth it. Because, no other Fidgeting Type Folder, is better, in my opinion... :-) The Snecx Super-Lock is sweet, too; I have two of the Vision FG Models. But, it's, still, not a better Fidgeter than the Demko Shark-Lock Folders, in my opinion. Though, I do agree that the Demko's are overpriced and can be super hard to get the US Models. But, that's due to their demand and exceptional quality and materials. Great discussion. You brought up some excellent points of view. I subscribed. :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)

It’s your experience and opinion. Opinions vary. If someone doesn’t agree, that’s their privilege, but it doesn’t make your opinion invalid. I happen to like Cold Steel knives in general, some more than others. I haven’t tried the 20.5 and so can’t comment. Properly heat treated and ground A10 isn’t bad, but it’s an entry level steel IMO. I am not a fan of grivory based on my experience with Becker knives…the replacement micarta scales are vastly better, but you could just wrap them I suppose.

I liked the video. I dislike the knife. 3V titanium is what I bought thinking it should be good. No, no it’s not. You didn’t even cover the worst of this knife. The detent is absolutely garbage. The action on this knife is garbage. I tell myself it’ll be my hard use beater and I still won’t carry it. Hard to beat up’s crap knife when it’s not in your pocket!

Demko AD20.5 Grivory handles, K110(D2) blade and a pocket clip that really sucks for $125? No way!! If you want a beast, buy a cold steel AD10 or AD15 lite for less than $80 and you save enough money to also buy a good Semcut.

Totally get it..and for the record my modified ad20.5 is still one of my favorite carries..but something you should consider is that you can buy a coldsteel engage with a similar lock and better materials made in the same Taiwan factory for about 50 to 100 bucks less...just some food for thought, thanks for watching🙌

You were justified with your original take. Your knife looks good, but that's a lot for a Taiwanese-made knife with low-end blade steel. Taiwan-made knives may be quality, but median wages in Taiwan is half that of the US. Thanks for the vid

I can't tell you how disappointed and angry I was after ordering the 3v exclusive version to have it show up in a small little clear box that slid apart instead of all the cool shit and the real nice case that came with the cheaper one, it just really pisses me off to pay more and get less... it's bullshit!

My AD20.5 Ti with the 3V was honestly as you put it a “fanboy out” sort of purchase, but I gotta say that the sounds and nature of the Shark lock is wonderful. But yeah, I do think that 315 was too much for it. Have a great day dude and keep up the great work!

Update July 2023 due to recent crazy sales on the cold steel engage I now have three of them. You can do a direct comparison between the 3 inch s35vn G10 engage and the ad 20.5 you get far superior materials in a knife that is very comparable what was cold steel you get much better materials at two-thirds the cost. You should consider doing a comparison video😊

Like i said before… i really want to get one, but the base price of 150 for the materials used is absurd. Basically a 75$ knife and 75$ for the new locking mechanism… Orrr Pay 250 for G10 and S30V!!!??? Like c’mon!!!! I guess eventually i will get one just not anytime soon.

Get yourself a Cold Steel Engage CSFL30DPLCS35 3 inch S35Vn blade and G10 scales. I recently got one for 103, but they normally are only 135. Better materials, much better price and I like the Atlas lock a lot. 👍

I just started in knife collecting and I have a total of 5 knives and everything you listed 1 thru 4 but when you don’t know nothing it’s kind of nerve racking to think about taking these apart and springs flying out and loosing them and where do you even start to learn how to mirror polish your edge ? So any video recommendations would help

Knife companies being over priced is the new norm. Koenig, Oz Machine, Benchmade, and Shirogorov are all over priced. Most of these brands over price there knives by hundreds of dollars. It’s to bad that you bought the AD 20.5 with Aus 8. The knife is a much better value in S35 VN and 20 CV. The AD 20.5 is an awesome knife. I am a huge fan of the Shark lock.

I have both, and without a doubt, I prefer the AD20.5, but I admit that it's not worth the price. Mine is in S35VN and carbon fiber. The operation of the Shark Lock, in my opinion, is far superior, but if I lose this pocket knife, I won't buy another one.
