@indegruv Djs were always ugly back in the dayz...bar Dj Rap, but even she proved her worth.... Nowadays it's about looking good behind the decks and the music comes second... Everyone seems to be copying the James Hype style and if you ain't you're a nobody.... Richie Hawtin one one of the firsts with doing more than just mixing when using digital....but according to this video, even he isn't pro nowadays....I get and understand the newstyle style and new gen of mixing but to reiterate there is no wrong or right way of mixing...and it also depends on what style youre mixing....

Waiting on my hp envy pc to arrive. Torned between the ev etx 18sp and the qsc sub for the house and potential gigs in the future. Right now this is a hobby for me. I think the EV elx200 18sp may be too weak. I know the qsc brings the heat but haven't heard an etx model in person yet. Money I'm not spending on American women. Speakers will still be providing joy 20 years from now and cause me zero stress.

@@djcarlo thanks. I received the qsc ks118 on Tuesday night. Couldn't get anyone to go pick it up so i called an uber xl and put it in the back of a toyota highlander for 25 bucks. Who needs friends? So far I'm happy but it feels like the qsc subwoofer isn't even being pushed by the flx4 signal. Is this where a mixer helps unlock power to get more out of your speakers? The hp envy laptop is amazing and has been running flawlessly for 2 weeks now. My tops are ev zlx 12bt speakers. Sound system sounds great. Why did i choose the qsc sub or the ev one? Because the EV one limits early. Sound was very similar but at the store the default qsc at unity was as loud as the EV at first limit. So in the name of space and headroom to push i got the QSC. Just that at home i can't seek to get the QSC to limit even with the gain maxed out. Is this something a mixer helps with? To get more out of your hardware?

Yeah, there's a bit of mapping needed for some of the FX

Less is more in a lot of cases. Advanced simplicity outdoes complex chaos almost always. There's so much of it now it's painful.

That's fair. Ideally, not every set should have the second part of this mix; though I firmly believe that accenting the music adds to it to break yourself away from just being a spotify playlist

Is there 4 channels or how can you mute the only volume sliders that's playing without music stopping?

I forget what exactly happened there. I know it's a nuance of beat slicer, if I'm getting the right part

If I was at a club and had to choose between the two with everything else being equal I will choose the beginner.

I wouldn't dare do everything at once in a club set! A pro *can* do all of that, but also knows when to actually trigger the techniques out in the field

the infuriating thing is the only people who care about this are other DJs...the people listening have zero clue about the differences...

Honestly very true haha. Normal club goers won't always appreciate this 😅

I’ve been djing since the late 90s and I’d rather hear the 1st dj style blending 2 tracks seamlessly to create real atmosphere. Can’t abide this new way of djing, smash a ton of buttons etc loop n loop chucking in a ton of effects. And as for calling that pro it’s not pro it’s just technical ability. Pro DJs create the atmosphere by reading a dance floor and building tracks without all that technical smash smash smash.

Okay, you've got a valid point. But a pro DJ can ALSO do these tricks in a smooth set, but knows when to do what. The point of the comparison is to really showcase what can be done! But, in real practice, not all at once (this wouldn't be a KZitem short otherwise)

You can check my courses on my Sellfy page! Look for the Zero to Hero one. I'd say it's pretty well priced 😄
