@EiswolfZero

@@StevenWatson123 first of all don't give up, it just depends on the way you learn best. Maybe you need to find that method! For me it's the motivation that I want to make a hat with a pattern in English which meant for me that I needed to learn how to crochet and to do so in English. With that kind of motivation I like to "brute force" some knowledge. First I watched a 15 minute tutorial about the main stitches in crochet and a video about the magic ring. After that I already moved on to some of these baby animals because not only can you clearly see what to do, you can always go back to the tutorial videos to learn any stitch again you suddenly forgot. (and for me I learn best from having to look up what I forgot). Believe me, I was incredibly frustrated some rounds because I didn't count them right, but it worked out in the end! 😊

WOW. This is the most complex thing i’ve made so far (I’ve pretty much made a square, a heart, and a flower), but this baby jellyfish came out so so good! My stitches look neater on this jelly than my other small projects. The way that you explained things made it so easy! I do admit, in the beginning you said we should have 8 stitches and I somehow had 12, but I chose to keep on going instead of going back to fix it. So my jelly was slightly bigger, which ended up coming to bite me in the end when the hole on my jelly was HUGE compared to yours. But I was able to fix it and make it look good! Will definitely be attempting again, thank you again!!

I am soo confused. Am I doing It too tight?? I can't ever seem to even get the hook to pull through. It either goes in between the one strand of yarn making it fray or my needle gets stuck. I'm about to cryy. I just wanna learn to crochet for my grandmother since she really wants me to learn. She's been crocheting for over 55 years
@khills

It might be the yarn you’re using. Some of it, especially cheap plastic yarn, frays and splits very easily. If you’re a new beginner to crochet, you might want to check out something like Woobles. They’re expensive, but they use a sock “yarn” that cannot fray on you, which makes it easier to learn the stitches. And once you’re comfortable there, it’s a lot easier to figure out thinks like “this yarn sucks for my project.” And bad yarn can make it really not fun to continue a project!
@MorellaDeCay
Ай бұрын
Besides the yarn you use, it can definitely be you're crocheting too tightly. I had this issue as beginner. You want your loops to be loose enough that your hook can easily go through it. If your having an issue getting into the first stitch of the magic ring then you may have pulled the tail too taught. Pull the tail closed but not as tight as possible, you can always pull it tighter later on. I hope this helps and made sense 💜🖤🧡
@mivical

yes try to hold the yarn on your finger with very little tension so the loop on your hook is not so tight. then the hook can more easily pass through the loop :)

Your single crochet explanation at the beginning helped me SO much! For some reason my brain was just not understanding it from other YT videos. Thank you! 😭🥰

I want to thank you for this video, i started crochet a few months ago and i never understood why my stitches looked okay but not quite like the one the pics. it was because i wasn't paying attention to the way i yarned. Turns out i was always yarning over and never under, i watched a lot of videos to learn crochet and i've never saw someone pointing this detail out. So thank you a lot :) . (PS i love your baby octopus pattern it's so easy and cute everyone around me got one)

Have never heard of someone using a yarn under in a tutorial before. Technically a "yarn over" is considered the traditional way to crochet. :D

There’s no “traditional” way of crocheting! There’s different ways, and there are all ok to do! I would say the yarning over both times is more common for other projects (other than amigurumi) but getting more and more popular for amigurumis 💖

@@allfromjade This is an awesome tutorial! I'm going to make a bunch of those jellyfish and I'm going to add a little bit of catnip into the head. I'll also do yarn eyes. This is a great cat toy! Thank you so much for showing how it's done.

this is an AMAZING tutorial for beginners. if you slow it down to the slowest speed it 100% makes this the easiest tutorial possible. i didn't use the correct yarn so mine ended up looking really weird? i'm assuming it was my yarn. i was using cotton yarn. i'm going to buy some of the fuzzy yarn tomorrow and hope that it works!!! mine kept shrinking and shrinking, but all the stitches were correct, and mine was SUPER tight and hard to slip the hook into. highly recommend using a lighter yarn as well, it's hard to see your stitches if using a dark yarn. her yarn is the PERFECT color for beginners. don't go too light either! i used a pastel BAREEEELY visible yellow and i STRUGGLEDDDDD. !! but overall i did okay for a beginner. and YESSS the magic circle is hard as hell but its soooo easy once you get it down! the hard part for me is actually crocheting into it. 😬😬😬
