I've been using my old GoPro Hero 2 for years to make cycling videos. I just started whitewater kayaking and I learned a lot from this video that will help guide me for my next video. This was very informative.

I'm a kayak fisherman - what is the best method of setting up my gopro so viewers can see the casts I make...maybe see a lure in action (surface) when a fish strikes and holding up the fish as I bring it in? I was told that the chest mount is the best, but what about setting it up on the left/rigth side of the kayak? I welcome suggestions :)

I'd suggest playing around with various mounts and positions. I know there are some specifically for fishing kayaks that hang over the side, plus bow and stern mounts to get wider angle shots. Worst case, get a couple of cameras and have them running at the same time to capture a moment from different angles at once.

So, if a guy only has one camera, it's mounted to your boat, how do you turn it on and off when you want to start and stop shooting?

Some of the gopros are voice activated, you can get a button that links to it and you can start it also from your phone. Depends on which model you get.

Terrible production. Choppy, dark. Doesn’t get one inspired, at all. Need better editing.
