In this video, we apply what I taught so far about creating chords and the numbering system to actual songs. Most songs are built off of four "common chords" - the 1, 4, 5, and 6 minor. I go over each of these and how to easily find them depending on what key you are in.
For practice, use the Way Maker number chord chart I attached in the comment below, and choose a random key. Find the 1, 4, 5, and 6m of that key. Then play through the song until you are feeling comfortable in that key. Now try the same thing with a different key. As always, use a metronome when practicing - it just helps you with everything musically down the road. Once you can do this successfully, you have become way better at transposing music than most beginning musicians are. Your understanding has grown a ton - keep up the great work!
I hope this helps you on your worship journey, feel free to comment below with any thoughts, insights or questions you have!
