Can I just have the City water connected at all times since my RV will be stationed in my own lot with my own water ? Also if I can do that will there be overflowing and will my water heater still work and be able to take hot showers? I’m sorry if I don’t make sense first time RV

You can leave the city water connected and on while you are staying in the RV. There should be no overflowing so long as you don't leave a faucet running. One important thing that a lot of folks new to RV's don't know though: if you are at a site with permenant hook ups, you still need to allow the black tank (toilet runoff) to fill so that the added chemicals can break down the solid waste before dumping. If there are no chemicals and water in the black tank, solid waste will not flow out of the tank and will eventually hardern and lead to a full tank replacement (or at the very least an expensive cleanout).

Will I damage the tank or pump if I select the water pump for better pressure, while being connected to city water?
@Southern_RV

The water pump specifically pulls off of the fresh tank. If you are hooked on city water the pump will not affect the pressure.

What would the problem be if tank fills when you are trying to not use tank?
@Southern_RV

There should be no reason that a tank (fresh, grey or black) would fill up when not in use. Make sure that you are not leaving city water connected and on when you are away from the RV. If the black tank is filling while you are connected to city water then you may have a leaky toilet seal.

I'm connected to City water. But no matter what the fw tank fills and over flows. I don't want to use tank I want to use the city connect. I think my lever is not switching from fill....

Yes, if your RV does not have two seperate connections (1 for city and 1 for tank fill), then your switch is likely the culprit.

What’s the point of the tank fill?
@Southern_RV
Жыл бұрын
You can use the tank fill option to put fresh water into a holding tank and that water can later be pumped from the tank to the various faucets onboard your RV. When you have a pressurized water connection (city) it bypasses the tank and goes straight to the faucets.

@@Southern_RV if I turn on the water heater will I warp my tanks while being hooked to the city water port? Or do I still have to fill up the tanks?
@Southern_RV
Жыл бұрын
@@parales03 The water heater will not warp your tanks, it should be insulated and seperated from your tanks by design. If you have pressurized water running through a hose and connected to the "city" port, you do not need to keep water in the fresh tank. Some people choose to alway travel with a couple of gallons in the fresh tank just to be able to turn on the pump and wash thier hands or flush the toilet when a quick rest stop on the side of the road is needed.

@@Southern_RV Thank you, this just made things easier for me. I was always filing up my tanks and never using city port. Mannnnnn I wish they would have told me this! Thank you!!
