Very informative video kneeckoh I watched your one from last year when I decided to step in this realm last week but I think this one was a bit more in depth very good job. To answer the question you were the final thing that got me into it! I watched some live streams from official channel in regionals vids from Wolfe from moxie boosted but something about you drew me in more and listening to you talk about all your decisions as you go as and I learned a lot from listening to you and watching your games play out and as you said in this vid I was one of the most recent who used your rentals to try I'd watch your vid then try the team. After seeing how you implemented it as a baseline guide because I've never done this before and I got to 8 with your teams getting so frustrated but learning every time then I tried one more team i found and hit master ball Sunday which put me at 4k something rating im master ball was a confidence boost and felt good so thank you for all you do. I haven't stepped back in yet been busy with work And I'm going to start grinding final dlc and raids so I can play with building some Pokemon of my own since very soon rank resets but you are the man kneeckoh

I really love this guide. I was already smiling halfway because of how beginner friendly you're wording everything. I love how you directed them towards the resources as well. The don't be afraid of losing and keep practicing part was the most important for me. I got to learn a lot by going against different teams in the ladder. Eventually, you can kinda tell what certain gimmicks the team would feature based on their composition. The VGC community has really expanded because tera is such a great mechanic. And guides like these encourage more people to join in on the fun. Great vid! 💖

Competitive Pokémon motivates me to enjoy a franchise I've already loved, but in a more realistic way. I've never been a competitive person by nature, but these formats are just motivating! It's really nice to be around fans of the franchise and the Pokémon world feels like it comes to life through these events.

Great Guide! As for me? Well... 🤔 I played against friedns when I first played years ago. I stopped after Gen 4, and came back around Pokemon Sw/Sh, figuring I'd just be a casual fan. My friends I played with had long since stopped and I did not follow VGC at all. (For that matter, wasn't even fully aware of VGC!) This stayed apace when I started Pokemon Scarlet. I got REALLY into Tera Raids, and in my search for more info, etc on them, KZitem started recommending me VGC vids! Got my start with Cybertron and Pokesports, and in turn, that got me brave enough to try! Here I am, and glad I did. The friends and experiences have been *fantastic!*

I was a big Pokemon fan as a kid. But Red and Blue came out when I was 8. So after playing the first few titles, I discovered boys and kind of forgot about Pokemon 😂… Until Pokemon Go came out. I enjoyed that at first, but got annoyed that you cannot keep playing it for a long time. So then I started playing the console games again and now finally, 8 years later, I feel like I am ready to take this thing seriously and start VGC. Wish me luck!

But I don't want to be at a disadvantage, as I imagine most players online ARE doing this stuff. I grew up playing the older gens of pokemon for the fun of building a team comp to beat the game with. With the added QoL features in SV, I'm much more interested in trying it out. It's waaaaay easier when everything is accessible in the pause menu.

Well competitive play in Sword and Shield is pretty dead at this point. Scarlet and Violet are the current competitive games, so that's where you'd want to start. So I'm going to break this down for people that are having a hard time digesting First off about the EVS it's 510 points that can go into a single Pokemon but only 250 in a single stat therefore you only want to apply points into the Pokemon's stats that have closer to 250, let's call that talent stats the non-talent stats will be a lot weaker and and more punishing if boosted. There's also adjusters for stats. Feathers berries and vitamins some increase some decrease and some do other wonky stuff. My assumption is that you can actually remove a base starting stats to a negative and use that to create a positive in another stat area. Then there's attitude type stats which can be altered which saves you the time and energy from breeding constantly and not getting the right stat or getting the right attitude or both. And when training in the wild you want to only have one Pokemon on you because this can affect the EV training of your other Pokemon Finally you're probably worried about abilities affects and other stuff right. It's very daunting to and very overwhelming to learn about every single ability and every single stats this will take many years of playing or a long hours of playing so don't worry about it. Think of it like this It's like playing magic a gathering or Yu-Gi-Oh you don't read every single card in your deck no you read as you play so what I'm saying is you draw five cards you read each an individual card in your hand over time you start to learn your deck and over time you start to learn about the gimmicks and the trickery that you can play. And as you get more and more advanced you probably want to build your second team then a third team and then the fourth team and then the 5th and then you'll have a six and then the 17th team eventually you'll have build up 100 different teams so don't worry building teams is the whole point of the game once you learn about all the Pokemon and abilities and stuff you can then probably end up start mixing and matching and playing with Corky things making it unique to you and your own play style I think the Pokemon game and game freak should actually incorporate more gems and more things into the system to help teach people about advanced playing mechanics. With voice acting and talking instead of reading and texting. It'd be kind of interesting to have special limited edition type of Pokemon inside of certain things like or have certain TMS locked away or certain things locked away behind educational type things. But if you previously played a game you can actually instantly unlock these things I think this type of feature would actually greatly help people get into the meta
