Something I have always loved with MMORPG content on youtube is they will ALWAYS without fail, have their dialogue with their character mouthing in a loop

I much prefer the avatar, to having a corner of the screen chopped out for a desk cam. Like Kroof said really breaks the immersion.

Thief looks fun and satisfying to play. The combat looks weighty and impactful. I like your tutorials and I'm making my way through them all is I try all the classes. You speak slowly so I can keep track and you're not shouty or excitable which can drown out the info being conveyed. They're not too long either so you don't end up forgetting what was said and they are easy to go back and rewatch. Others comment on things they would do differently to the build but really as a new player you don't need an optimal build, you want some basic information that explains what all the stats are and a build that will work until you know what you are doing. Your vids do enough to point the way I think.

If you are going for a beginner build, condi thief with Deadly Art, Shadow Art and Trickery is probably a safer choice. You get good condi clear and very good sustain with Leeching Venoms.

@@hawlerying6576 Spider Venom had a small duration nerf, so Leeching poison isn't as powerfull as before and Withdraw didn't get compensated after the 20% CD reduction was removed on Trickster. It's a bit less DpS and sustain, but the build is still pretty strong. You can also go for Skelk Venom instead of Withdraw, the CD got reduced by 5sec and the healing values you get for you and your team are impressive.

Nice video. I leveled trough lvl 1-80 with this build, and on 80 i got berserker equips armour and weapons, rune of rage, and sigil of strength + accuracy. for jewlery o go with beryl, for a bit of vitality, because he is a bit glass on hard battles. My feeling is that he build 25 migth very quick, and have lots of evade. a realy confortble build for a initiating leveling open world process. Of course, 2 pistols is very effective for leveling, but i realy like the two dagger ninja style =)

overall good build but i would change the invigorating precision, since its super weak after the nerf applied a while ago, into the extra dmg grand master trait. also, instead of smoke screen i think for a beginner it's better to use roll for initiative. Edit: Also, in trickery use the trickster mastery for 14.5 secs healing and only 28 secs of roll for initiative

I would also go with dual daggers and dual pistols. But I would pick the evasion, stealth and crit tree instead, being as elusive as possible always having the darkness and blinding at my disposal. With the evasion tree it's really hard to go wrong, because people who play thief want to evade as much as possible instinctively since they don't have shields and such to negate all the dmg and increased movement speed is really awesome to get behind the enemies back fast for the finishing blow. With the blind and stealth bubbles I also provide a lot of support for other ranged classes and buy them some time if they want to refresh their skills and heals and not get hit by the garbage the enemies throw 24/7 at you.

This Build helps me a lot. I just started my Thief and have a lot of fun. I know i am no pro at all. But for open World i found the bow perfect for events and groups. Is this an option. Like 2x Dagger / Bow? i use a lot Bow / 2x Pistols. But after this video i see the benefits of the daggers.

Why didn't you pick Shadowstep as a utility skill? It's a 1200 range teleport which is also a stunbreak (both Shadowstep and Shadow Return), and Shadow Return also cleanses 3 conditions on top of that. It's too good to not use.

Yeah - this was with the intention of moving as little as possible. For a beginner build I want to focus not on darting around all the time, but rather on maintaining in combat. Shadow step is fun though.

Just came across this guide. Nice to watch. However, what I don't understand: why do all these beginner guides come with lvl 80 builds and gear? A beginner starts at lvl 1. Once you're lvl 80, you're an advanced player and doing endgame content. I don't understand.
@KROOF
Жыл бұрын
At lvl 80 not necessarily. You level so quickly in GW2, never have to do dungeons, and are not met with end-game challenges until you self-elect to do them. So in many aspects, builds don’t really matter until you hit lvl 80. Plus one can watch the video and start building their character with this in mind as they level, without being tied down to this because of th ease of changing builds.

@@spreadneck2063 the rarity of their gear is less important than the stats on it. Ascended/Legendary gear has only a 5% increase in stats over exotic (the orange gear) while exotics are affordable and usually only a few gold for an entire set, and you’ll be able to recreate everything in this guide simply using exotic gear and weapons functionality wise.
