Hi: I am kind of newer sewer. I made your 10 minute table runner. It took me about 8-10 hours to make sure the fabric was straight, cut them out, stitch them together, flatten the seams and top stitch. I love it and bought more fabric to make two more. Your instructions were great. What other beginner projects do you suggest? Thanks, Debbie from Central Oregon. I had a tough time straightening the fabric. Debbie

Hi Debbie. Here is a link to a few beginner projects working with fat quarter pieces of fabric (18" x 20"). kzitem.info/news/bejne/xKGwyZ6lpmmBho4 Many of the examples have just a few steps to complete. I think some of these will be a lot easier. Thanks for watching, and happy sewing. 😍

I am new to sewing, so I was hoping someone out there can answer my question: my fusible webbing says to use “low permanent press” setting on my iron. My iron has Synthetic, silk, wool, cotton, and linen. I am not sure which one I should use. Help!
@TheSewingRoomChannel
2 жыл бұрын
Hi Paul. Synthetic is the coolest setting, and the others gradually get hotter. I would use a small piece of the fussible webbing and start with the wool setting to see how it works out. Thanks for watching, and happy sewing. 😍

Can you use something other than fusible webbing?
@TheSewingRoomChannel
5 жыл бұрын
Hi Arkynurse. Yes you can. You can use cotton batting. But there will be an additional step you will need to do. After turning the runner front side out and stitching the opening closed, scatter pins all over the top to hold all the fabric layers together. Then you will need to do quilting stitches to hold everything together. Click on this link to view a video on how to do these stitches kzitem.info/news/bejne/xKmHp3lqpIGLnG0 The explanation is about 12 minutes into the video. Thanks for watching and happy sewing.

Do i need fusible webing for a heavy fabric?
@TheSewingRoomChannel
6 жыл бұрын
Hi Skeesmiller. I recommend that you use the heavy iron interfacing because it will hold it together better and give it body. Happy sewing.

Hi Donna. Bring right sides together of both the top and bottom pieces then stitch together. Leave an opening on one side, then turn the table runner right side out. I hope this answered your question. Happy Sewing.

Why do you have to pin the edges after turning right side out. Thanks
@TheSewingRoomChannel
7 ай бұрын
Hi Cathy. You don't have to pin. I do that because it makes it easier to press the edges evenly. If you don't want to pin, then as you press roll the edges back and forth to line of the seam evenly. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching 💗 and happy sewing😍
