Founded in 1962 by Dr. Konstantin Frank, this winery continues to be family-owned by third and fourth generations, Fred and Meaghan Frank. In 1958, it became the first to successfully plant vinifera vines in the Eastern United States. Today, the estate covers 130 acres and features 17 unique vinifera varieties, including some of the oldest vines in New York and the second oldest Pinot Noir vines in America still in production. In 1985, second-generation Willy Frank pioneered the production of méthode champenoise sparkling wine from traditional Champagne grapes, a tradition that continues to this day. Great bottles and a beautiful destination have put this winery on the map.
