On Friday 26th July, the thirty third Olympiad will open in Paris to mark the opening of the Olympic games, where athletes from around the world will compete for gold in the French capital.
This year will mark the one hundred anniversary of the greatest Olympic story ever told the fierce rivalry between Eric Liddell and Harold Abrahams at the 1924 Olympic games in Paris. Eric Liddell was a devout Scottish Christian who refused to compete on Sunday’s and Harold was a Jewish University student from Cambridge who battled against anti-Semitism.
There heroic exploits for Britain at the Paris Olympic Games in 1924 inspired the Oscar winning film Chariots of Fire.
