An amazing artist, I loved his music & his beautiful voice. The songs also represent what’s going on now, I’m sad to say. His death was horrible, & a huge loss to the world.

The world (NY HARLEM/BRONX) stopped spinning when that album dropped. It mesmerized us. (Funny that Gordy didn’t like the Dizzy Gillespie type scatting. That wasn’t Marvin. That was Jamerson!”) It’s a masterpiece

Videos have been keeping me alive during the workday! Amazing stuff. Always loved Mercy Mercy Me, the woodblock always felt so deep and beautiful as a major percussion element. Also, I use the Type 77 often on crotch/wurst mic-- it can handle high SPL no problem! Might try it on kick sooner or later and see if I can get that sweet dynamic motown thump.

Cheers Daniel! I didn’t know the 77 was so robust, sounds like it’s worth a try to hear how much it contributes to that Motown bass thump.

Is there any way you could do a video on his Let's Get It On(Deluxe Edition)? More so, Disce 5 all the 1973 Version songs like She Needs Me, Funny, Not Much, etc. Those 7 songs have the rawest but beautiful production. His vocal mixing and processing on this song are just mind-blowing. Even the string arrangement on some of these songs is just beautiful. But, weirdly, there isn't any information about these songs. I've been searching but have not even had any luck. Possibly doing a video on all of these 7 songs would answer so many of the questions I've been puzzled with

That album did always sound like it was rushed to me. Many of the songs sounded alike, and although there were several good songs, much of it was filler. Still, for some reason I liked it, and so did many others.

It's a fair point about the sound alike's but in a way it adds something, like a classical piece with an over riding theme almost.

Wut????? Thts called a motif & its dope....thats my fve part of the album....the only "filler" (a word i dont agree with here) i hear is the stuff in the back half , that , to me, sounds mkre like jazzy, improv stuff....maybe written from jams....this album is goated to me & always will be...marvin on instruments, james jamerson...nuff said
