The HP Hood plant in Agawam can produce 55 million gallons of Milk and related products per year. 320 employees fill the 94,000 square foot plant on Main Street.
As a former resident of feeding Hills ! The Hood company has been a blessing to have in town Sense 1950's

It's good to see that some farms are still surviving in America we lost so many of them back in the 80s early 90s it was sad to see area farms closed farming is wonderful for humanity especially when it's local

Hood normally has excellent benefits, profit sharing, summer outings and some of the BEST pay in the area for the education requirements. People who leave, often try to come back because they can not find comparable pay elsewhere. But it can be a demanding place to work, as the hours are earlier than many places, and the days off are separated ( not traditional weekend off like many places). There are only 3 holidays that most people there can expect to have off ( but certain depts staff 365 days a year (the Lab & maintenance work 365). They have spent a fortune trying to revitalize that place, so most depts have either a nice new work environment, much newer equipment or both!

You got it! No love for Sacramento Plant! The Republican is the LOCAL news paper near Agawam! This is why they visited the Agawam plant. They also never mentioned the Winchester Plant which has been a part of Hood for longer than the Sacramento plant.
