Cabinet making has come a long way in the modern manufacturing facility. While there is a niche market for hand-crafted furniture and cabinetry, the vast majority is made in moderate sized to large scale manufacturing spaces. It's a cool fusion of traditional craftsmanship, digital technology and modern materials - and the process is really cool!
Join DirtFarmerJay in this 3 Part Series as he walks you through the process from beginning to end.
You'll see how cabinets are designed, cutting lists generated and cutting directions sent to automated CNC milling machines. The fun doesn't stop there - pieces need edge banding, holes and dowels, and shelf pin holes installed. Then, cabinet boxes are assembled, hardware mounted, and fronts installed (after they have been painted or finished in some other way).
Then, the day of install comes, including fit and finish, and the results are just what we wanted.
A special thanks to our friends at Lone Pine Cabinet Company in West Jordan, UT. They went above and beyond on both our project as well as allowing us to film these segments in their manufacturing area. Thanks, to Steve, Chris, Dave, Patrick and the rest of the Team. YOU GUYS ROCK.
