On request: Here's my attempt to recreate the lead sound from Underworld - Rez with the Behringer 2600. My "rezinger" demo track: • Tom Noise - Rezinger -...
That is so clever and imaginative. I would have gone down the 2 oscillators route. Would love to see more tips like this.

Thanks y0ur for your effort Tom to show this. Till recently I was quit ' afraid' of synths with a lot of holes in them. But then the Behringer 2600 came out which had such a fantastic sound. And sound has priority nr. 1 for me so I had to learn now how those scary looking synths work. After reading the manual and seeing a couple of youtube vids, I released that it wasn't that hard to understand how they work and your vids shu re helped a lot to overcome that. Thanks a lot!

I think you really nailed it here! Sounds like the original adds a little delay on everything. Thank you for posting! Well done! Oh, and really cool patch cables, haven't seen those before. I also want to thank you for introducing this song to me. Can't believe I'd never heard it before, especially as much as I've been into synth music since the late 70's.

Thank you Christian. Yeah, the original has delay and reverb added. The intro jam in the video has a little ping pong delay added, but it's hardly audible... apart from that, this is just the "naked" sound without any eq or outboard fx. Nice that you found new old music that you like this way :-)

Hi a bit off topic in regards to 'Rez': how noise is the spring reverb - or in other words how good is it shielded ? I had a vermona VSR here and I had to move it far away from powersupplies (etc.)
@tomnoise23
2 жыл бұрын
Sorry i can't really help with that. For one i don't really use the spring reverb in productions (because personally i don't like it's sound too much) and whenever i have used it for the demos i had no issues with interferences in my studio room. However, a little bit of noise is coming from the spring reverb but i would consider the noise level more or less as normal.
@skyreadersociety6183
2 жыл бұрын
@@tomnoise23 Thanks, sounds good to me. I found it interesting to colour the sound rather than adding space -as a reverb it's often sounding like a tin can ;-)
@tomnoise23
2 жыл бұрын
@@skyreadersociety6183 Absolutely! I guess the thing is that i was expecting too much. If you compare the spring to the spring reverb from an ARP or Korg 2600 then it's just miles apart. And most of the time my music just doesn't need that springy sound at all. For feedback patches or effect sounds it's fine for me though.

I forgot if I asked you how gray meanie differs from Blue Marvin and from the original. Version, of course, besides the reverb? Thank you
@tomnoise23
3 жыл бұрын
Blue and Gray are the same besides the color of course, otherwise they are identical. Both have other types of capacitors in the filter circuits and a mechanical spring reverb, whereas the standard brown/orange comes with a digital spring reverb and smd caps. If you turn off the reverb, then all three do sound almost identical.

Pretty sure that it's doable - the same principles apply to a vst instrument. It needs an oscillator with a fixed frequency and a resonating Lo Pass filter that is able to apply keytracking to it's cutoff freq. For instance: Reaktor Blocks, U-He RePro, NI Massive X and many more.
