Microphone test aside (the C-2 mics are fantastic), your sax playing is awesome, man. I mean really, it's super!

1:25 you should use a popshield, even on the small condenser, they'll pick up the russian wind that rushes over the steppe, i mean the microphone. any old piece of junk foam will do. great video BTW.

Man oh man! Fantastically refreshing sounds, really impressed with the c-2 on sax, but I'd personally go with the 57. The rode is always going to be great for most things, same as the 57. Great playing, and yeah very refreshing to hear music like this on KZitem.

I just ordered some c2 and was looking for sound demo. I like your video its well done. I also have a rode nt1000 that i love and a neumann tlm103se. Thanks for the cool review🤙
referring to your sax recording... the nt-2 obviously has a warmer sound, but i would even say it is a little "flat". but certainly very ok depending on the specific recording situation. but somehow i REALLY liked the SM57 for its classic / "vintage" tone! .. and there is a clear breathe/air sound in it which gives an intimate character which suits very well for this song. and i am a little surprised, since this is something i would rather have associated with large dia condenser mics than a dynamic .. but so what ;) .. there must be a reason why the SM57 has been around for idk 40 years or whatever ;) (and with about 100 bucks it's really affordable ;)) but hey. i really need to say that you are so incredibly talented. i've seen some of your older and newer videos, and you play those instruments very well. but saxophone is definitely yours! sound, technique/virtuosity and feeling .. you just nail it. :) .. made my eyes wet ;) .. and would not be surprised to see you on the world's main venues in near future! ;) .. hope to hear more from you soon :)

I honestly thing the C-2 had the most detail and crispness. If you want a warmer sound you can always roll off the highs in the mix. I'm sticking with them, especially for cymbals.

C-2 can do the same clarity & affordable, but sm57 is a dynamic mic and awesome, for rode condenser, ok you win but the price. Thanks for review!🤘

Thanks for the very nice review.... Dedicated talents... The SM57 is probably the best bang for a buck. However, the C-2 isn't a waste of $$ and clearly holds it's own nicely. Cheers...

Fender Frank yes , SM57 is nice for the stage but not for studio recording . It has much more self noise . Yes , sax sounds fatter but it isn't the way it actually sounds . So a studio mic does its job .

I have to agree about the C-2... I've had one (well, two, but only one still works), and I've ended up throwing it into studio settings a few times over the more typical studio mics I've had access to. Hard to argue with the performance for price.

+Adrian Dourakos so do I. As I said kirill and Daehan are my favourite. But I think he would bring some much needed smooth jazziness to Brian's channel.
