Great demonstration of a nice sounding synth. Shame about the plastic shafted pots, etc, but this is what you have to put up with if you want affordable synths. Fine in the studio, maybe not so much on the road, but I'm pushing 60 now and that's not so much of an issue for me 😁 Thanks for posting this. I might grab one of these!

Ive never really been that into Moog - I prefer the ARP sound and design - but the Muse does interest me strangely. I do wonder about their pricing. £2999 for an 8 voice, bi-timbral poly synth against £5000 for a mono synth.
@payt01
26 күн бұрын
@@TheDavidPoole Right, that's a big discrepancy isn't it? The thing about the Minimoog is that it's a legendary synth, so you pay a legendary price for it. As long as people buy it for that price (which apparently they do), the price won't change. Muse apparently is Moog's attempt to be competetive and shift bigger numbers. And it works. they can't make enough of them to meet the demand :) Earlier this week Andertons still had 5 of them in stock, those are all gone now.

The LFO-2 rate slider responds normally on mine, LFO-1 rate & S+H sample time misbehave as shown here. There are two calibration screws on the back for LFO-1 and one for S+H (none for LFO-2), haven't been brave enough to test whether altering those calibration options affects the rate/time slider responses.

I was a keyboard tech for 40 years, mostly on the digital era synths. What I absolutely hated when I owned all my analog synths was the tuning drifting all over, the lack of polyphony, and the lack of velocity sensitivity. It is my understanding that Behringer is essentially making all these new remakes with the identical circuits, just with smaller surface mount components and modern construction and manufacturing. So I am assuming they still have the tuning stability problems? It will be interesting as to how long it takes for the new younger generation discovering analog synthesis before they get fed up with its shortcomings and fairly bleak sound.

@@tommyg5095 Model D, Pro One, Wasp were the worst of the ones I owned.
