This is the superb Dean Jones.Incredible.His rendition on the 1970 recording was that more poignant because he was going through a divorce. You could see and feel the hurt and passion and his expression at the end of the 1970 recording session says it all. His version from 1970 remains the best of all time. I first heard Barbara Streisand sing this which was lovely, until I discovered the original. I wish there was a version of Dean Jones only without the cast talking. They are really not needed. Rest in Peace.

Wow! Such profound, genuine emotion from a fabulous MALE singer! I only had come to expect THAT level of sweet emotional intensity from a woman's heart--Judy Garland comes immediately to mind. Isn't it wonderful how Dean Jones deep expressiveness continues to reach out and affect our lives in such an impactful way! Through all the decades since this performance was first put on tape.... awesome!

Dean Jones was magnificent! What an incredible - and important - gift it is to see the original Bobby giving the world (thank you, You'reGonnaLoveTomorrow) a - if not THE - definitive version of one of Stephen Sondheim's absolute greatest songs.

I guess that we all changed in fifteen years, some more than others, without realizing how much. Sad, isn't it.

Superlative. Just as others may have been in "better" voice, Dean Jones, cast superbly here, in undisguised confessional mode as compared to that of others, good as they are, performing the song.

A shame this was not recorded professionally. Seems like someone in the audience smuggled in a video recorder.

It didn’t. West Side Story, yes. This? Dean Jones. It hit me the very first time I saw him do the OBC recording!
