24:46 ❌WRONG❌, Im Argentinian, from Corrientes. I had a black history in my family. Let me explain this, but in my native lenguage. I think google translate could help you, maybe. (Q no quiere decir q sea afrodescendiente real) .

What are you talking about, my friend? People stare at you because they don't see black people very often. That is not discrimination. That is people being inquisitive. You are exotic for us. Argentina didn't kill its blacks, what are you talking about? In 1813 the black babies were free and the kids that reached adulthood became free as well. A lot of black men went to fight for Argentinian independence because they were offered freedom as well. Many black men as the whites and natives went to war. Many died. By the time the war was finished many men had died, black, whites, natives and mestizos. One of our heros was Sargeant Cabral who was black. Then after the war, we started mixing and making babies, without caring what colour the person was. My grandfather was a mixture of black, white and native, but then my other grandparents were italians so by the time I was born, I looked like white but my colours are in my genes. Please read Argentinian history properly. We were one of the first countries in the world to abolish slavery.

@@PakesepaHow horrible to live with racist, segregative thinking, without respect for another totally opposite culture. It is the result of having experienced racism until today. Argentina never experienced racism or segregation. The fact that people from countries that were slave owners are just getting to know Argentina, they do not understand that Argentina never had such an attack on human dignity 🤦. That's why you see it as something discriminatory is a word, simply because the biases of pure racism are still internalized in their thoughts and actions. So yes, for you, the exotic is frowned upon in your reality. Argentina 0.3% of black Argentines in 57,000,000 inhabitants, if there are pure blacks it is due to recent immigration since the historical black settlers formed families with white people, indigenous people, Creoles and mestizos. Since 1810, whoever was born was free, regardless of race or religion. That's what we Argentines experience: the mixture, even if you see a blonde person with light eyes, they may have black ancestors, it's normal because we are a mixture and black people mixed and were a tiny minority. While other countries were slave-owning and that is still evident in the way they think, as you just did with your comment.

With due respect, some people seem to misunderstand the most basic thing....if you have unusual characteristics in a given context for whatever reason....it is not shocking that some people may stare at you.......simply because people may not be used to seeing people like you.....I heard countless times experiences from white people going to places like China, India or African countries where people just not only stared at them.....but wanted to speak to them and even take pictures with them....because they were so unlike what they were used to seeing in their context and daily lives. This is simply what may happen for a black person in certain places in BA or Argentina where it is very unusual to see a person of African descend. Is that racism?? No, it is the same experienced by those white people in China, India or African countries........is there racism in Argentina?? For sure there is some, regrettably so, but not any more than there is in the US, UK or other European countries......Argentina was one of the first countries in the world that banned African slavery and allowed for multi racial marriage in the early 1800s....while the so called "first world countries" run slavery trade for many more decades and had horrible segregation policies until the mid 1900s....namely the US.....and yet you need to read people from the US or the UK saying that Argentina is racist....laughable ignorance.

My brother... In Argentina we dont see colors we see people, you will find some form of segregation, like in all western societys. But its more clasist... or regionalist. People of the high classes midly discriminate the lower classes, or the people from periferic regions, and it has been a form of segregation dificult to erradicate. So if a person have money or power the color of the skin is irrelevant, And if the person doesnt have it, is the same... In example, police could bother someone, but it will not be by color, It will be by cloth or aperance, If someone dress like a robber they will be stop. if you dress nice, they will open the door of your car... So... the clases definetly diferentiate themselves mainly by clothes, and dressing culture. Its like, the diference between the apereance of normal working people and gangsters in London, diferent dress code. Here in argentina suits or Tshirts for working people. Sport clothes for gangsters So... if you can, dress nice, get a suit... a coat, or something like that, something like a bussines man.- Another Advice. Dont inyect european or north american social conflicts on us, those have no meaning for us, we are a totally diferent culture... in mather of fact the word that in europe or EEUU is used to offend persons, here is used for other things, we do not comunicate the same thing with that word. Here in Argentina you surely will see clear skin couples calling themselves with that "n" word like saying "honney, or sweetharth, or dear" or a friend calling a friend just as a nickname, please dont be offended by that, it doesnt mean the same thing here. just imagine we are a lost tribe in a desert, that has never been in contact with your culture, You cant proyect your social experiences and conditions to them, its the same with us, you will have to take the time to know us :D. Well i hope i explained myself correctly, and you are most welcome to our and your contry if you want to make it yours ❤

Please do not think that bc they're staring is a bad thing, please go to some exchange language club of friends here in Buenos Aires and you will make a lot of friends. We are actually very reserved, friendly yes but not very open cause we live in a very stressful country because of economy, with a lot of robberies and murders, we don't trust people easilyy, we trust people little by little. Me as a woman, I always stare people with a resting bitch face and is my subconscious way of protect myself in public is to not smile too much (Recently for example, I was filming with some friends in the city, I was part of the food catering and a man from the streets came close to me to ask for a coffee, I trust him and gave him coffee, once I got distracted he took advantage and he robbed the juice box we got... I was paralized.) This is why we look serious, cause we wanna protect ourselves.

Ill make this brief, hopefully everyone will understand: -black people aren’t native to the americas -argentina was very sparsely populated for most of the colonial era, and due to the local climate the land was not suitable for plantations and intensive agriculture of sugar, coffee, cotton, cocoa, etc. -Argentina received around 4 million European and western Asian migrants in a matter of decades (which are notably not black) -there was never segregation in Argentina, interracial marriage was always allowed which led to the few black people there were in Argentina to mix with the rest of the population. After generations of people marrying and fucking whoever they wanted, regardless of race or ethnic background, the physical features of the black minority ‘faded’ away. Millions of Argentinians are of African descent, but you’d never guess that just by looking at them. Argentina has had two Afro-Argentinian presidents, in fact, the very first president of Argentina was biracial himself. How many black presidents did the US have? How long did it took the Americans to elect a black president? Literal centuries. While the first American presidents were slaveowners, Argentina was being governed by the descendants of enslaved people. Argentina has had a Muslim president too, who won 3 elections. How many Muslim presidents has Germany, France or the UK had..? (I name just some of the countries with several times more Muslim people than Argentina, both relative to the population and in total gross numbers)
