Yes, I am the middle child (under 14 yrs old) of my siblings and I don’t think they have taken our two dogs for a walk in months, I take them as often as possible, though I dislike doing this almost daily. When we got our dogs we were told it was our responsibility to make sure they were walked, yet my brother and father say that since they have a big backyard they only need walks every once in a while. No, they need a fun experience of going on walks, and to the beach, otherwise they will become depressed. EDIT: the only part I agree with this lady in is that Walks cannot be replaced with a big yard.

I walk my 10 yo min poodle & 17 mo Cockapoo, 4-5 miles per day….1 1/2 years ago, after losing our little Pom, I tried repeatedly to find a puppy through a rescue & was continually turned down with them saying it was because I did not have a yard….it was awful. Our pups go to multiple classes, go to dog park daily & go for those walks & these people felt I wasn’t good enough because I don’t have a yard?!

My grandparents dog spends most of the time in the backyard running in circles for hours while we’re playing with him so yes. It is exercise. Just because if you might have a dog who’s lazy doesn’t mean you should assume others aren’t giving they’re dogs exercise just because it’s in the backyard.

@@sadiePIAveres nah what's rude is Karen here trying to say someones dog walking in their back yard isn't exercise. By definition it's exercise, there isn't any reason to be dismissive of that to feel mighty.
