When a film combines suspense, horror and humor you have a major hit ... Not to mention Bela Lugosi, Glen Strange, Lon Chaney Jr, Bud, Lou and a cameo by Vincent Price ...... A true classic...

Bela was a master at being Dracula. If you're a Universal monster fan this is the all time favorite. Plus if you're an Abbott and Costello fan it's the best of both worlds. Forever Classic.

I have to say that this is one of my favorite Abbot and Costello films. I love the old horror films and the comedy mixed in with the duo was a nice touch.

Such a classic film! Belas still my favorite Dracula, his role was pretty cool, and creepy in this, to be honest the whole cast was amazing. Bela Lugosi, Lon Chaney Jr. and Lenor Aubert, along with those crazy comedians Abbott, and Costello.

Dracula would've been scared of the Frankenstein monster if it got an evil brain again and opposed him just as it opposed his creator.

After the disappointing showing of the monster in both house movies , in this movie , strange got to show the brute strength and presence that we come to expect of the monster.

I think some of Drac's dialogue is looped.

More than likely yes. There's way more looping done in films than people realize. That's how we get that full sound. Otherwise it would have that off in the distance thin sound.

In the dictionary type cast, definition has a picture of Bela Lugosi. Why didnt he just make a vampire out of Franky? He would be a triple threat plus automatically obey his master . I mean if the monster had blood flowing . You never saw the monster get any transfusions perhaps his blood was mobil one ?

Good question - As the Dracula character evolved, he seemed less and less the supernatural being figured in the original “Dracula”. In his original form as an undead being, he could not be hurt or “killed” by any means, unless vulnerable during daylight hours as he rested in his coffin. He possessed the strength of 10 men, could appear as mist, command lesser creatures such as bats, rats, etc.....could assume the form of a Wolf or a bat....and had power over the Will of a human being. In other words, no one would want to mess with him. Neither the Wolfman nor the Frankenstein monster would pose any threat to him. It’s a pity the character was gradually reduced to a guy in a cape who liked the ladies as a snack, and who could be easily dispatched by any dolt with a stake....or by falling off a balcony in the grip of the wolfman.
