People don't realize what an Awesome!! and Astounding Performance, Brad Gillis pulled off, in this Concert!! Filling in The Shoes for Guitar Legend, The Great Randy Rhoads!!🔥🔥And he had to learn all these tracks within a week or so, and pull it off in front of Live audiences everywhere Ozzy Toured, right after Randy died!! Ozzy himself gave his stamp of approval for this man to attempt to fill in Randy's shoes, and He Passed with Flying Colors in My Book!! I remember seeing The Performance of Iron Man, on Heavy Metal Heroes, before Night Ranger ever got famous, and being, so impressed, that when I finally saw The Whole Speak of The Devil Concert live on MTV, I got Fired Up, and Blown Away!!! The whole band is Awesome Here!! Especially Gillis, for filling in the shoes he had to replace, and doing an Astounding Job!! As well as Bassist Rudy Sarzo, The Drummer Tommy Aldridge, and of course The Great, and Almighty Ozzy Osbourne!! With one of The Greatest Hall of Fame Voices of All Time!! This Concert Cooks!!🔥🔥🔥The Church of Ozzy!!👺👺Ozzy Rules!!🤟🤟🤟as Ozzy says C'mon!!! You've got to Believe in Yourself cuz No One will Believe in You!! Words to Live By!!!👍

Amazing line-up for sure. Brad Gillis knew everyone was going to be comparing him to Randy and he really outdid himself. Imagine the pressure he was under. But he was capable of playing what Randy did plus throw in his own licks here and there. I've always thought that he and Jake E Lee were really underrated. I saw Jake play with Ozzy (Bark at the Moon tour) and with Badlands. I've always thought both of those guys were *WAY* better than Zakk Wylde. Zakk is a great player, and he does a good job filling in for Dime, but I don't care for his style of playing on originals.

@@satansavesthechildren4069.......... Ozzy was surrounded by a network of good people: his wife and manager, producers and studio techs (engineers) + good friends. How is it that Brad Gillis got the gig? I'll tell you: he has a great ear for music; learnt all these sabbath and Rhodes songs within a few weeks. I know music, and Gillis puts a few interesting nuances within some songs. Of coarse there were sections of some of the two albums which Rhodes played on that Gillis had to improvise slightly. Brad Gillis was thrown in at the deep end and did a super-fine job. Rhodes was a complete and pure player, gifted, could read and write his own complex music. Gillis, flipside, had to use his ears, knowledge of all scales and chords with his eyes closed. Ozzy osbourne could have had anyone........ He picked Gillis. Thank Goodness, he did.

Bernie Torme came first, then Brad. Torme wasn't the first to be asked to fill Randy's spot. We know Michael Schenker was asked but he had priorities. Torme was asked by the record company and he said yes, despite not knowing anything about Ozzy or Randy. His style didn't meld with Ozzy's direction and was different from Randy's. So Torme and Ozzy mutually agreed after 7 shows that Ozzy needed someone else. That someone else was Brad Gillis. Torme had to learn Ozzy's set list in a week. And given what he was up against, he pulled out better than most would. He had to adapt to a completely different style than his typical hard rock. If Torme wasn't there, the ball may not have rolled like it should have.

Nope. He was the second. Bernie Torme was the first, and I caught the very first show with him in Bethlehem PA. We learned that Ozzy and the band were rehearsing at the venue (Stabler Arena) and we cut school and hitchhiked to B'hem the day before the show so we could stand outside and listen to the rehearsals. Then we hitched home and hitched back the next day for the show Considering that Torme had literally just a few days to learn the whole set, I think he did a decent job

@@marlowewillard I was there for Torme's first show, and we got to listen to some of the rehearsals the day before. The security guys let us look in from a side door, but we couldn't go inside. I was like 15 or 16 at the time, and I found the rehearsal process fascinating. Like, it dawned on me that these were just people at work, doing their jobs. It demystified the whole thing for me, but also made it more interesting at the same time

For a while, they actually had an offstage singer who could mimic Ozzy's voice, but that was later, like during the Ozzfest era. I'm sure they just used sampling technology for later Ozzy and Sabbath tours
