I feel like Paul wasn’t as bad as he’s been made out to be. I know the boating incident happened and I’m sure he was probably spoiled rotten and used to getting his way but I think deep down he was probably a good kid that made some serious mistakes and possibly didn’t understand in full the severity of his actions. Idk. Maybe I’m wrong but after hearing different testimonies of those that knew him best it sounds like he had a lot of good qualities as well. Regardless of it all. This is honestly a very sad case all around. Alex has hurt so many people that seemed to really care about him and his family.

I was going to say that. It seems like Paul had a sweet side to him, listening to those around him. He was respectful to the housekeeper, and she seems very fond of him. With his friends it appears he was a solid friend, that thing with his friend’s dog at the kennels and he was trying hard to get the Snapchat to his friend. Not many youngsters visit their grandparents and definitely not get involved in helping with their care. I take my hat off to Paul. My introduction to Paul was at the boat crash, the way he was behaving after Mallory hit the water, I thought of him as a pompous entitled ignorant boor, typical rich kid with no respect for the hired help, but like you said, he had some good qualities and he was a loyal friend. The boat crash still happened and a young life was tragically lost. Accountability, this Alec’s chance to impart some life lessons onto Paul. I’ve worked as a private nurse and as a carer if we didn’t have enough carers. The horrors with their families, I could write a book 😂

I'm born southerner and let me tell you, when I moved to CA, I was in for the shock of my life. Went home crying one day because none of the other parents would wave at me in the school line. My husband said, 'You're waving to people?' 'Don't do that.' 🤣 Growing up in my GA house, you always addressed people properly, you just knew better. No need to get yourself in trouble. Respect is given to anyone older than you and it's mostly deserved. That also includes holding doors, helping with groceries, yard work, anything. If a person is older, and they need it, you help them. If you encounter someone in a position of power, you always address as sir or ma'am. Generally speaking, you always hold the door for a lady and pull out her chair, as well.

It depends on parenting. Generally, if you have Southern roots, no matter where you are currently living, that hospitality is taught. Most polite are in The South and parts of The Midwest (because a lot of their parents are FROM The South.)

@dianad3080

@@jglow22, yes they would because those that are there to watch are to be seen, not heard as their reaction can influence the jury. Although laughing at her light-hearted statement in this instance wasn't a big deal and wouldn't have hurt the case, but imagine if it had been a different witness and they stated something that had the entire courtroom either gasping in surprise or muttering in anger or talking amongst each other after something was said, then that can influence the jury in a negative way (depending on whose side you are on that is).

It's complicated. Rarely does anyone desire money or choose drugs to that extent for surface reasons. There are usually much deeper causes for that kind of drive. In Alec's case, he was likely spoiled and grew up getting whatever he wanted, which was never enough. I can't imagine much of that money didn't go toward family spending - vehicles, expensive vacations, multiple properties, clothing, dinners, parties, etc. If Alec could convince his wife that they were financially stable, maybe she would turn a blind eye to his drug habit.

Alex seems to have a huge Flaw in his Character.. as a result he was a horrible parent, serving alcohol to minors at his home. Paul and Buster were both fetched not raised, spoiled rotten by Alec and Maggie. It's a shame.

It seems like a caregiver should not be hard of hearing. She seems like a lovely person, but as a person taking care of my elderly parents one of my worries is my dad not hearing my mom, one time she was choking on her food and he was in the other room with TV blasting and he didn't hear it. Luckily she's fine, because I was there. Point being, I don't think having a caretaker hard of hearing is the best thing.

I am a caregiver in private homes. One family insisted that I sit in the room with their loved one as the individual sleeps. If a caregiver is close by, I don't see it as a problem. She is feeding Miss Libby and therefore would know if she was in distress.

As a caregiver you would not be in the next room with the TV blasting while your client was eating. Also she lip reads, she is clearly dedicated and well thought of. Belinda could look after me anyday.

Ms Belinda seems quite attentive and responsible in her work. A spouse or other relative in the home would likely not be since busy with their own interests and caretaking. It's the reason to hire good help for thise unable to be self sufficient.

If Alex Murdaugh went to his house with Ms. Maggie Murdaugh the day before the murders with Krispy Kreme doughnuts, why did he ask Maggie to see Mr. Randolph again next day, May be because Mr. Randolph was asleep?

I question that, too. I didn't realize Alex and Maggie had been to a sports event on Sunday and visited his parents that night. Because Maggie was back at the Edisto Beach home on Monday, when Alex asked her to come to Moselle. One reason given was Alex's father had been admitted to the hospital that day (on Monday) and reason was to go see his mother at home together. So Maggie stayed at Moselle Sunday night or went back to Edisto Sunday night, with Alex asking her to come back Monday afternoon...and it's about an hour trip. Plus she had an appt in Charleston, more driving, then stopped for a manicure, and drove back to Moselle, getting there around 7:30, I believe. Do you know anything about where she was Sunday night?

This family is blessed in those working for them. These people are really only employees but they are kind, caring and treat that family and their children they help like their own family ! At 8:41, she talks about the Crispy Kreme donuts. Everyone laughed but Alec, who was busy writing something for the lawyer perhaps. I just found that odd. I could be WAY off on this thought, but I’ve wondered if Randolph’s death wasn’t natural. Alec is considered a family exterminator. They mentioned cancer, but the caregiver said she’d talked to him the day before his death. Alec & brothers supposedly inherited $4 million each from his estate, money that the court couldn’t take away to pay Alec’s victims because it was an inheritance. Lol, I watch too many crime shows!
