I have one of these helmets and I love it. Regarding price, it now sells on Amazon for $349, so yes, it costs far more than traditional bicycle helmets, but with the Multidirectional Impace Protection System (MIPS) and the full face coverage, I believe it is worth the price for the best helmet out there for impact protection and saving one's face and head. I always say: "If you have a cheap head, get a cheap helmet!" There are plenty of examples on KZitem and online of MTB guys who have had standard inexpensive bicycle helmets when they do face plants into the dirt or a tree, and the results are not pretty, not to mention the long-term consequences of a disfigured face or head, or even serious injury or death. In my way of seeing things, price should definitely not be a factor when considering which helmet to buy, rather, how important to me is it to retain the integrity of my head and face, along with the full functioning capability of my brain. Since the company includes a second set of chin pads of a smaller size, if the helmet is too tight, those pads can replace the thicker ones for lots more jaw room. I tried the thinner ones, but the helmet was then too loose on me. I have used BELL helmets ever since I was a kid racing motorcycles, and also in later years on my road bikes. One of my BELL helmets saved my head once when I went down at 50 MPH on my dirt bike on a paved road section in the Mojave Desert of southern California, after coming off many miles of dirt single-track. My head was flying along the pavement, with the right side of the helmet scraping the road right next to my right ear. The helmet got pretty bunged up, but my head was perfectly intact. I did have to go the emergency room though to stitch up my right knee, which was under the bike and not protected. steve

i think you can adjust the padding on the chin guard, you can take off some of the foam and it will be much confortable

Thanks Nick. I think you have convinced me to buy one for use, here in Australia. I love down hill but baulk at going too fast but this helmet might give me a little more confidence. I had a crash two days ago and a better helmet would have helped a little. At the age of 65 I don't bounce like I used to. The heat dissipation was a concern but I'll take the chin bar off and clip it onto my backpack as you described as I have a pack just like it. I've just purchased an eBike a few days ago so that will be less of a problem I guess. Thanks mate.

Hey, what size head do you have and what size super dh do you have and how many times do you click the adjustment dial? I know that’s a really odd question I’m just in between sizes and wondering what to do
@MuggersAus

Large size but depends on how long my hair is. I'd rather a slightly bigger helmet and dial it back to fit.

The helmet being tight is good if it's brand new, it should mould and form to your face over use.

The system that tightens around your head loosens really easily and would definitely loosen in a crash, is it suppose to do that?! And is this thing actually good for mountain biking?! There’s no padding, and the helmet seems really thin! I’m mainly going to use this for fast biking around the city and hill Bombing would it hold up to a good crack of the head on the concrete?!?

Hey Nick thanks for the video. Are you still using this helmet? How's it during trail riding?
@MuggersAus

It will be fine for trail riding but am no longer using it. It runs a little warm but I’m not that phased in it. I run a Giro Source for trail riding and a Fox Pro Frame for shuttle/race days now.

A MORE disturbing noise is when your chin hits the concrete and your jaw fractures into pieces. Think about about it!

H3AVYHAUL3R Safety equipment is meant to rape the pocket? They also didn’t require you to wear seatbelts in the 70s. But that changed because seatbelts are proven to add additional protection. Take off your tinfoil hat bud. If you don’t want the expensive and safe helmet, go to Walmart and buy a $20 helmet.

300 for a helmet (3r for 230) costs WAY less than a trip to the ER and possible concussions. but if you are fine wearing nothing but a strip of foam over your head, no one is going to stop you.
