I had the chance to listen to this double album, and..... this is something mesmerizingly deep in human's soul. This is.... well. You say a music can be great, brilliant, amazing. But there are no words for this. This is beyond music. This is the words of the soul's deepest pits. A journey to the roots. Thank you Bell Witch for this experience! Hope you can recover from your loss.

Yeah knew it! Mirror Reaper is pretty great and really I haven't heard anything this year that competes (though Amenra and Tchornobog get close). Actually haven't heard anything since the last Bell Witch record that was as good as this. Been on repeat since it arrived early on monday (for some reason). Totally agree with the 5 skulls, this is something special. Though I'm not sure if I like it more than Four Phantoms (which is one of my top 10). Didn't think I'd encounter a Dark Souls reference here of all places! Though it looks more like New Londo than Blighttown ;)

So yeah, I got really stoned yesterday and for the first time ever got a lil sick and genuinely didn't enjoy it, so I tried searching for some music to listen to, something I haven't heard before. Went through some oldschool death metal, didn't hit the mood, and then, after a while, got a recommendation for Mirror Reaper. Now, I have seen the album cover before and liked it. Seeing it desperate as fuck, I immediately clicked on it and laid down. AND FUCK. Yeah, this held me through the night. Incredible. What a fucking incredible flow of emotions. Insanely good. Gonna be listening to it today sober, it's truly fantastic.

This album bends time. Seriously, I was looking at a clock while listening to it and, I swear, the dials were moving way faster than they should have. That's how slow this album is. Once your brain gets accustomed to the slow tempo, time stars flying by. It's so slow that for the first twenty minutes or so, next to nothing really happens. But it gets better as it goes on. All in all, it's a pretty good record, one that shouldn't work as well as it does given just how little it has going on at any moment. But that's the beauty of it. 7.8/10
