People don’t understand that people that are genuinely dangerous predators are usually super charismatic. You’re most likely not gonna be creeped out by them, there’s definitely outliers but they’re usually *really* good at hiding what they are. Lots of survivors or serial killers like Bundy when asked why they got in a car with a stranger said something like “he was a nice, charming, good looking guy that didn’t seem dangerous.”
@inasgalijasevic8761

I can speak of experience that the way some predators behave around kids make you think that that kind of person is the best to have around children, calming them, acting like a dad, generally caring about them, they know what they are doing, thats why cases like these are unexpected, and why many predators come from close family proximity

He got off because a second victim testified against him in the trial. It was in law that you can’t convict someone for one crime just because they committed a different crime as that would be prejudice from the jury, so the second victim’s testimony was inadmissible. That means someone relived a trauma on the stand to get their attacker convicted, and then got told that their testimony was the very reason the attacker is walking free.
@BriPer1992

That... is horrible. That poor victim. I would be absolutely crushed and distraught. The legal system is a joke sometimes. I would know. I've been through it. My case got dismissed because of "lack of evidence." They had DNA, texts, bruises on my body, records of hospital visits, et cetera. I'm convinced the USA justice system is skewed toward the perpetrators of sex crimes rather than providing the survivors their justice.

Either way, sick and twisted.

That's a good point. But when they get out on technicalities it's because of sloppy police work getting confessions or something. I think in this case it was the verbiage in the sentencing, so maybe this was a judge lending a helping hand

It's the same with drunk drivers. Both the judge who ruled no restitution was to be paid, and the DA who didn't push for any $ or punishment, had DUIs within a few years of my case. A slap on the wrist is all they got, just like they gave the guy who's 7th felony conviction ruined my life in every possible way. No matter an young innocent woman was made homeless, unable to work. I was permanently disabled with no support. And ofc the acute & chronic pain I'm in isn't treated because o piates are now the devil, since the ppl in charge prefer alcohol, the most destructive drug in the world. That newspaper clipping shows the case is even more troubling... he was a Juvenile Court volunteer, so he was intentionally insinuating himself into a position of authority over vulnerable minors, and the minor he assaulted was apparently a resident of some type of juvenile facility or residence home, away from the normal support systems that children might have to help protect them from people like Tom. That all shows how calculating, cold, and methodical he was about his criminal behavior. That's not an indication that this was a one time thing or lapse in judgement.

Then as the evening progresses, he told many war stories that mostly were about the brotherhood with his military comrades. In the middle of the story, he quickly glossed over a detail in a story about hanging out at the local VFW where he said “me and my buddies tied the local barfly to a tree and we all took turns having our way with her, some people call that rape, I call it a good time”. He continued on talking and I was left just disgusted and I kept helping him with his laundry but I couldn’t get out of there fast enough. IT'S LITERALLY EASIER THAN BREATHING. Wait actually let's assess this. Breathing requires you to suck in air and then breathe it out. For those who still don't understand how Tom avoided conviction: the prosecution used the testimony of Tom's other victim to illustrate his tendencies and clear intent to commit a crime. According to the letter of the law, they should only rely on the facts of the case, i.e. the testimony of the child victim without the context of the testimony of other victims. This is to avoid a situation in which the defendant is convicted for his overall character and not for the act for which he was charged. Thus, he was able to win the appeal because there were more victims than one.
@Shyknit

It's as ridiculous as someone being a victim of a burglary, and assuming they are going to become burglars. Or you have been mugged, so suddenly you are going to be a mugger. As anyone who has been a victim would attest they would rather those crimes happen to them, than be abused. To know how devastating it is, how vile, it is the very last thing you would ever dream of doing to anyone. He will soon face God, and as Jesus said, "it would be better to have a millstone tied around yoyr neck, and cast into the sea, than offend one of these little ones. A person's body literally explodes. He has not escaped justice, he is about to face it. He seems to be gloating, the opposite of repenting. I bet there are many more victims due to that technicality. It makes me so angry. Btw I love your username. God bless you.

You're actually one of the lucky ones. Rarely does it even get them out of working with kids for more than a year apparently. The guy who abused multiple kids in our town when I was in elementary school had prior charges, got to work with kids again and then got probation, got to change his name and move somewhere else.

Man you're so lucky. Sucks for the victims that fell for 'Featureman', hope they're living well. This brings me back to a case I heard from my high school Native American teacher. In the 80s when she was an elementary student and lived on a reservation, she remembered that one of the police officers who worked at the reservation was arrested and charged for SA'ing two minors (both girls) at her school. From what she knows, the reason this memory stuck with her was that one of her friends was the daughter of the police officer, and the police officer was renowned at the school many times as a great dude who got along with the students well (yeah self-explanatory after what I just typed before). Because of the laws at the time, alongside her living in a reservation (reservations to this day have seperate laws to the state that they are in, making court very complicated, unsolvable, and sometimes even undocumented. For real look up the amount of missing persons cases on reservations, its insane what crimianls can exploit nowadays). From what she said, the police officer got some time in prison, but was eventually released shortly for unknown reasons. The police officer decided to change his identity and move out the reservation. Luckily she was not a victim of SA, but that must've been terrifying to know that their once renowned police officer at school was a child predator.

The Hog Rider is a fast ground troop with medium hit points, low damage, and the ability to jump over enemy Walls. He is unlocked at level 2 Dark Barracks. The Hog Rider (person) is a bare-chested dark-skinned man holding a hammer. He has a Mohawk, wears a brown leather loincloth, a red belt, and a pair of leather sandals, as well as two large golden wristbands and a gold earring. His ride is a large hog, about half his height. It has a brown leather bridle looped around its tusks, which in turn is held by the Hog Rider. Hog Riders prioritize defensive structures above all other targets, and will bypass all other types of enemy buildings and troops while any defenses remain on the battlefield. This is true even if they are under attack by enemy Clan Castle troops, heroes or Skeleton Trap skeletons. Note that like all troops that prioritize defenses, Hog Riders do not consider the Clan Castle to be a defense regardless of whether or not it contains enemy troops, but do consider the defending Grand Warden and the activated Town Hall weapon (if any) to be defensive buildings. Once all defenses are destroyed, Hog Riders become like any other troop with no preferred target; they will attack the nearest building to them regardless of type, and will turn and attack enemy units if they become aware of any nearby Strategy Offensive He can be used to jump over any level Walls, rendering them ineffective against Hog Riders. Note that while this allows Hog Riders free access to what lies behind the Walls, it does not open up gaps for other troops to move through. If the Hog Riders need the support of other ground troops, you will still need to deploy Wall Breakers, a Jump Spell, or Earthquake Spells in order to assist them. Hog Riders can be used en masse, i.e. a “Hog Rider Rush”, without requiring any Wall Breakers to break Walls. However, such a strategy can be costly in terms of Dark Elixir, and sports weaknesses against defending Clan Castle troops, Heroes, Giant Bombs, and Skeleton Traps, a problem which only becomes more prominent at higher levels. At Town Hall 10 and above, Hog Riders can be combined with Miners in a strategy known as Hog Miner or Hybrid. Both troops are able to bypass Walls innately, but Miners do not have a preferential target, allowing them to cover for Hog Riders by dealing with defending Heroes and Skeleton Traps. The combination also has weaknesses against flying Clan Castle troops, as neither are able to target air. At lower levels, Hog Riders are quite capable of acting as distracting troops like Giants; they have nearly as much health as a similar-level Giant, move twice as fast, and do considerably more damage. They work well with the Healing Spell when you group several of them together. A good tactic for using Healing Spells is to place them strategically on a cluster of defenses (at least about 3 or more) and also deploy them shortly before the Hog Riders arrive in the area, deploy them in front of the Hog Riders. This is so that the Hog Riders get the most value out of the Healing Spell, and destroy the defenses without losing too much HP. Spots where Giant Bombs or Bomb Towers are/may be should be given special attention when deploying Healing Spells. Hogs of the same level as the Giant Bomb will survive a single Giant Bomb, but they’re helpless against a pair of Giant Bombs even with a Healing Spell. Heal them after they’ve gone through a Giant Bomb blast. The Hog Rider is one of the best troop types for drawing out Clan Castle troops, as it can avoid Walls to penetrate deep enough to reach centrally-placed Clan Castles (and enough health to not die before it gets there). Deploy one or a few to trigger the Clan Castle troops, then lure the reinforcement troops to the corner side, and deploy multiple Archers or Wizards to slaughter them, and then deploy the remainder of your Hog Riders. This strategy is especially effective during Clan War raids. However, Skeletons from the Skeleton Trap and Heroes can also easily kill the Hog Riders, as they can only target defenses, so make sure to have some troops that target anything, such as Wizards, which can swipe out the Skeletons. Hog Riders don’t target air so flying Clan Castle troops, especially Dragons, can be a big threat. Most mass Hog Rider strategies in Clan Wars require that the Clan Castle troops be killed first by luring. Bring other troops in addition to Hog Riders, such as Wizards, to deal with enemy Clan Castle troops and clean up the base.

This is honestly sickening and sad. As a minor myself (16 y/o), I can only imagine how horrified the kid was when it happened.... The man was *38* , and that poor kid was *14* , only two years younger than me when the whole thing happened. A fellow adult, someone we were told our whole lives are mature, responsible, and someone you should look up to, being the SOLE REASON of his trauma....Sad. And the fact that an elderly is a predator is crazy; People always think the elderly are wise, kind, caring, fair, compassionate, gentle, and fragile beings, but this guy shows that that's not always the case.
