lol, I've been in Iran for 24 years and I have never eaten Caviar, nor have I seen it in any menu. I doubt you can find it easily. And I guess 99% of Iranians have never tried it just like me. It's absolutely not a traditional and popular dish in Iran. It would be more popular if it was cheaper though.
@toomaskotkas4467

Sarah N. You're right. I've been to Tehran every year and have visited the grand bazaar many times to see lots of shops that sell the same Caviars with the same price. They had a wide variety of caviars from different genus... it's expensive, I've got to admit, that's why many Iranians don't buy it. But it's still widely accessible to the public. Only people don't buy it.
@faridbahal1
6 жыл бұрын
It is not that expensive for most of Iranians. I am not rich but i certainly can buy it. The reason people do not eat it is it is not delicacies at least in our taste. So why expend so money for it.

@Zoroaster So the Russians, living on the shores of the Caspian sea since the Kievan Rus' and salting all kinds of other fishes had no clue how to salt caviar? And Persians told them how to do it and also taught them the world "caviar". Yeah sounds very believable. Not.

Uprated. Funny, because in NYC for years I always kept champagne, little breads for toast, quality butter, a few hardboiled eggs, Perrier, lemons and caviar ... for breakfast, especially! I didn't know a little onion could be good, too. I quite like it sometimes. I did find that if it stains your teeth black, it's just inferior fish eggs, dyed. I'm okay with lumpfish eggs, however -- it doesn't have to be the fancy stuff. Not everyone likes this, for sure.

+calipdis2 That is because foregin media did not enter Iran for the past 30 years or so or at least evven if they did, they only had the intention of exposing the world to the biased dark side of Iran, which is the Iranian regime and their minority supporters... By persuading the mass minds against Iran, people have had the image of a much different Iran which is waaay different from the truth,a distorted image really.
@sarahn.8749

+calipdis2 Well, the interviewer speaks to them in Farsi here. I'm sure if she went around speaking in English many would engage in the conversation with her. But anyway, Islamic Republic is to blame, because they don't instill English teaching in the education system.... a way to control the population and an attempt to avoid western influence.

They shipped all over the USA and it made a fun gift (my late mother in Ohio was thrilled) and they'd messenger over your order in Manhattan. There was quite a big difference.
