@dave4248 I don't think he's rebelling. He said once his mom was the fast-paced, aggressive one in the family, and that he got that from her while getting his ethics from his dad.

Ben, this is a very special podcast. When it presented itself to me and I saw that it included your dad, I was instantly intrigued and qued it right up. I'm 76, and lost my dad to bone cancer over forty years ago in 1978. I loved my dad and I've profoundly missed him every day since. The relationship between father and son is one of the most important in humankind. So, I watched you and your dad interact together with great interest, and it was very heartwarming. But I was totally unprepared for the rush of raw emotion I felt as you signed off by hugging him and telling him that you loved him. My tears almost ejected out of my eyes! It was a great tribute to your dad and the obviously very tight relationship you have with each other, and simultaneously it reminded me of the hundreds of times that I have missed the opportunity to express the same love so frankly to my own dad as you did with yours. He must be incredibly proud of you! ❤🐻🇺🇲

Baseball teaches so much about life. The fact that it builds character around the idea that you may fail more than you succeed but to never give up and show up every single day and stay persistent in your attempts at success. You can fail 7 out of 10 times and still be considered a hall of famer. That type of mentality that you need to bounce back and make quick adjustments is vital to success in life and baseball

But what they said about loyalty and values resonates with me very much which is why I enjoy listening to people who stick to their beliefs and convictions. It's good to see people who even HAVE those. What's going on globally right now is absolutely disheartening, so I'm glad to be able to "connect" with others who share many of my own thoughts. And it's not necessary to agree on everything, but still, to realize that there are others out there as well helps a lot...
