The team for which Yasiel Puig is playing are the Tiburones de La Guaira whose manager is Ozzie Guillen. They are playing Cardenales de Lara and the winner of the series will represent Venezuela in the Caribbean League Tournament in Miami starting February 1st, 2024. The player that hit the "show-off" homerun was Maikel Garcia, who is the cousin of Ronald Acuña Jr., and plays for the Kansas City Royals. The one that threw a punch and hit Yasiel Puig was fellow Cuban, pitcher Yunesky Maya. UPDATE: La Guaira will be representing Venezuela in the Caribbean Series. Yasiel Puig said he will play if invited and Alcides Escobar is on the team. Maikel Garcia (K.C. Royals) and Ronald Acuña Jr., (Atlanta Braves) will not play. man this is one of the things i hate about baseball pitchers don't let batters celebrate there homeruns always gotta do something about it and it never turns out well for usually the pitchers in the end it needs to stop let the batters celebrate

Or just act like a man that has been there before when you hit a bomb. The issue is baseball inherently has no physical contact so you cannot get back legally at a guy who deserves it. Throwing a bat, screaming, it’s embarrassing. I am fully aware it’s probable the other team did the same thing. But that just highlights the problem more. So…. Either A. Legalize NHL type 1 v 1 fights. Or B. Just don’t act like a 9th grader when the teacher leaves the classroom.

In all the years of watching Puig play with the Dodgers, he got into his share of scrums and act all Swol but never saw him fight anyone or hit someone with a punch. Still not sure if I've seen him hit someone.

The other guy was Yunesky Maya;another Cuban player older than Puig. This situation come from Dominican Republic League;when both played against each other. Maya wants to play for Cuba team and Puig doesn't;they don't like each other. The guy who hit the double was Alcides Escobar;who everyone knows he played in MLB and win a ring the the Royals.

Puig is badass. I kinda wish he could get another invite to MLB, but it's a longshot.

Puig's team won the championship, that is the first title of that team in 37 years Ozzie Guillen is the actual manager of that team.

just wanted to throw out there a fun fact, "Opposite manager" is Henry Blanco, had a long career in the MLB and he was Greg Maddux's personal catcher for the Atlanta Braves. Also, he won the 2016 World Series with the Cubs as a coach
