The SOCP dagger is my preferred knife from Benchmade so I am super excited that they made a civilian and a rescue version because that means that the dagger version was very well accepted. I like to carry clipped to the pocket with a paracord holding the sheath to the belt to withdraw the same way people carry neck knives on the pocket.

The SOCP knife is part of my EDC. I lost one in Afghanistan and got another one as soon as I came back. I keep it centerline on my kit, between/behind mag pouches, it is designed to be carried like this so it can be reached with either hand. In a hand to hand combat scenario this allows you to keep weapon retention on your secondary (pistol), pull your knife to create space, and immediately transition to your primary or secondary. The skeletonized design allows you to manipulate your firearm without dropping the knife and the ring being exposed is so someone else doesn't see your knife as a weapon of opportunity to use against you. This is on my "must have" list for kit

Do yo think this can do the same type of damage as the SOCP Dagger single edge. looking for a good EDC self-defense tool/Knife that I can carry and not have to worry about getting in trouble with the laws in my state. Its not a knife or a dagger so it should fit into the catagory. I know it will not cut like the other knife but it should still penetrate skin and do damage.

A tiny carbide tip means massive pressure. So yes it will puncture skin and hurt like hell.

Thatguyoverthere So a great option for someone in like Cali or NY? Cop asks and it's for seat belts. Crook asks and he finds out 😂

I'm sure jabbing that carbide tip into someone would hurt a lot, but I wouldn't rely on it to puncture flesh deeply enough to cause meaningful wounds. Maybe it would if you jammed it hard enough, but I wouldn't rely on it for that role. If you're concerned about the legality of the regular SOCP dagger, they make a single-edged version for people who live in areas where double-edged blades are illegal.

as an EMT, I'm curious: would this fit in the scissor pockets on 5.11 EMS pants

Using 5.11 EMS pants as an example, SOCP sheath (any model) is too long and too wide.

Philip Gundlach and as an emt I wouldn’t recommend carry this. Use the bench made hook. God forbid a psych pt gets ahold Of this and stabs you w it. I just saw this and I am just gonna keep my leatherman raptor.

I like to put my thumb in and pull it out that way rather than the finger...
