Benedict Cumberbatch reveals that the producers of the reimagination of The Grinch originally asked if he would play the part with a British accent, but Benedict felt that the American accent of the Grinch was too iconic to change. Despite not being a Grinch himself, he enjoys playing darker roles, saying that audiences now can appreciate a character with grey areas of their personality.
