I keep coming back to this remarkable video of Benjamin Beilman and introducing others to it. His facility is breathtaking. And I love the authentic performance practice tone he uses especially at the beginning. It transports me right back to Central Europe. He has a beguiling stage presence, too: exciting to watch without being artificial. WOW!

? Romantic in the best central European sense, and more like real Romany music heard even today from Romany in the area. Moving.

Truly wonderful. This is really awkward to play both technically and musically. The ensemble was not always spot on but the overall effect was sensational. Performed with great style and panache.

Se olvidan de la orquesta muchos "violinistas"....muchas obras dicen " para violín y orquesta "

Intro sounds too rough and scratchy and it continues in some spots throughout the piece. Was it the bow? The strings? A new instrument for him?

Ramiro Del Bosque His technique is stunning. I imagine he can make that bow do whatever he wants.

I think its more on techniques and nervous. I found also some issues on tempo and articulation also it does not harmonize with the orchestra

Fantastic playing. Wish they wouldnt waste camera shots on the wind players and even the harpist when the soloist is playing

Too aggressive, phrasing and intonation is off so often. Not very fluid. Watch Maxim Vengerov’s (minus the dram) to get an idea. Still he is not the best but much better than this.

Wow! This is the most chopped up, massacred, and grotesque version of Tzigane that I have ever heard. Perhaps this was a dress rehearsal?
