The Bennies Brook Slide, sometimes called Bennies Root Canal, was cleaned out and
made much more accessible by Hurricane Irene, back in August 2011. It now runs from
the Southside Trail, along John's Brook, almost all the way to the Great Range Trail.
A herd path on the left, near the top of the slide takes you to the regular Great Range Trail on the east side of Lower Wolfjaw a few minutes from the summit!
In this vlog Jeff and I tried to climb higher than is recommended. After doing it I would tend to agree that the mossy vegetation is extremely slippery and you should not try to climb as high as we did. But it was the highlight of our climb and it made us smile ear to ear! Being an adrenaline junkie this really got my heart going!
My blog is not to inspire you to climb higher but to show you the trails or the climb so that you know what to expect!

Tips for people just getting into hiking:
Don’t do this hike if you are a beginner! Seriously
LNT - leave no trace. Meaning if you carry it in then carry it out and if you do see trash on trail try to carry it out as well to help keep these mountains beautiful and clean.
Do The Rock Hop - The Alpine vegetation is very rare and very fragile so when you’re on the summit of these mountains please only walk on bare rocks to avoid killing the vegetation
